Pratt St., Baltimore, MD 21201\n</p> <p>POSITION DUTIES</p> <p>Provides EMS Communications service to EMS field and\nhospital personnel. Coordinated medevac helicopter activity including calls\nrequesting service, assigning and dispatching appropriate aircraft, monitoring\naircraft for flight safety and notifying hospitals.?\n-Answers calls requesting medevac helicopter transport\n-Monitors weather conditions and other factors related to\nflight safety?\n-Assigns and dispatches appropriate aircraft?\n-Monitors helicopter tracking tools for flight safety?\n-Answers calls from EMS field personnel requiring\ncommunications with hospitals for notification or medical direction.?\n</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education:?? Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.\nExperience: One year of experience at an Emergency Communication System as an operator or from the field as a pre-hospital clinician.? This experience can include experience working as a licensed Emergency Medical Technician (or above) or Emergency Medical Dispatcher.\nNotes:\n1. Candidates may substitute additional experience as described above on a year-for-year basis for the required education.\n2.?Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Emergency Communications or Management classifications?or Emergency?Communications or?Management specialty codes in the Emergency Management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.\n</p> <p>DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to\napplicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \n</p> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ol> <li>Employees in this classification are subject to call 24 hours a day and will be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.\n2.
