<p>JOB FUNCTION:</p> <p>The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. This role plays a critical part in day-to-day accounting operations and provides support for financial reporting and analysis.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and post journal entries for routine and adjusting transactions </li><li>Perform account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, and income statement accounts) </li><li>Assist with quarter end and year end close processes </li><li>Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, as needed </li><li>Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation </li><li>Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies or variances </li><li>Assist in preparing financial reports and analysis for management </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field </li><li>2-4 years of accounting or relevant finance experience </li><li>Analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, or similar functions) </li><li>CPA designation preferred </li></ul> <p>LOCATION:</p> <p>This position will be based out of the Fareway Corporate Headquarters in Johnston, Iowa.</p> <ul> <li>EOE </li></ul>
