Our culture is open, transparent, challenging, and fun.</p> <p>We hire smart, self-starters who thrive in an open-ended environment to figure out what needs to be done and take ownership in delivering quality results</p> <p>Role: Functional Data Domain Lead - Insurance</p> <p>Location: Boston (Hybrid)</p> <p>The Functional Data Domain Lead - Insurance will be responsible for overseeing the design, governance, and enablement of high-quality insurance data across the enterprise. This role will partner closely with business, actuarial, finance, and technology teams to ensure that data related to policies, claims, underwriting, and reinsurance is accurate, consistent, and effectively leveraged for analytics, reporting, and decision-making.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead and manage end-to-end insurance data management processes, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. </li><li>Partner with Insurance, Actuarial, and Finance teams to understand data needs, pain points, and use cases across the insurance value chain </li><li>Collaborate with IT, Data Engineering, and Architecture teams to design and implement scalable data solutions aligned with business strategies. </li><li>Define and implement data standards, governance policies, and quality frameworks for insurance data domains. </li><li>Contribute to the development of a technology and data roadmap that supports future insurance business capabilities, reporting, and analytics needs. </li><li>Partner with analytics and reporting teams to enable business insights and ensure consistent metric definitions across products and lines of business. </li><li>Stay informed on emerging technologies and best practices in insurance data management, including AI, predictive analytics, and cloud-based platforms. </li><li>Communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders on project progress, milestones, risks, and dependencies. </li><li>Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex insurance data and drive data-driven decision-making. </li><li>Manage competing priorities and deliver results in a dynamic and evolving business environment. </li><li>Act as a domain expert, advising on product features, riders, pricing reserves, financial reporting and hedging strategies </li><li>Possess hands-on experience with querying and analyzing data using SQL (or equivalent query languages) to explore, validate, and troubleshoot data issues independently. </li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills </li><li>Minimum of 12+ years of relevant professional experience in insurance data management </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Strong background in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization </li><li>Experience with data warehouse and business intelligence initiatives </li><li>Experience with core insurance systems such as MG-ALFA </li><li>Experience with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements (STAT, GAAP, IFRS, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Why Ness</p> <p>We know that people are our greatest asset.
