Candidates chosen for a second round interview will participate in an in-person interview at a date to be determined.</p> <p>Schedule: 8 hours per day; 220 days per year (inclusive of 10 paid holidays); M-F;</p> <p>Location: Shelton High School</p> <p>Salary: $30.07 - $35.18 per hour, depending on experience. Salary Range is Based on the 26/27 SEOP Salary Schedule.</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (overtime eligible)</p> <p>Benefits: 12 sick leave days; 10 paid holidays; 6 personal leave days (to be deducted from sick leave); 5 bereavement leave days; health insurance benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) including medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance; retirement through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS); other fringe benefits as allowed under School Board Policies and Procedures and the Shelton Education Office Professionals Collective Bargaining Agreement.</p> <p>Overview:</p> <p>The Office Professional (Level V) position supports the School District's Strategic Plan and School Improvement Plans by providing support to the principal or Director to ensure the smooth and efficient operation. This position effectively participates in the educational process by supporting the principal and/or other administrative personnel, assisting staff, students, parents, public, vendors, etc.; coordinating the operation of the school office, including overseeing assigned activities of other office personnel and student assistants; managing budgets and monetary transactions, including ASB funds and financial documents and transactions; preparing documents (e.g. reports, purchase orders, correspondence, payroll data, schedules); maintaining records and files (e.g. building personnel payroll records, correspondence, building inventory); and attending meetings and training.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalency as a minimum. </li><li>Ability to pass a Federal Criminal Background check. </li><li>Experience working within schools is preferred. </li><li>Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in operating standard office equipment, including PC computers, printers, copiers, scanners, multi-line phone systems, and fax machines. </li><li>Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Docs, and able to quickly learn additional software programs necessary for the position for workload efficiency. </li><li>Strong customer-service orientation when assisting students, families, staff, and community members. </li><li>Ability to accurately enter, retrieve, and maintain data in electronic systems. </li><li>Demonstrated strong communication skills, including clear and professional written communication with correct grammar, punctuation, and formatting, as well as confident and articulate verbal communication. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in basic math including performing operations involving monetary units. </li><li>Willingness to actively support Shelton School District's Strategic plan and initiatives. </li><li>Ability to actively support a positive school culture for staff and students. </li><li>Ability to maintain an upbeat, positive, and collaborative demeanor. </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain professional, positive relationships with students, staff, administrators, families, and the community. </li><li>Willingness to participate in school and building events and activities. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and tact in all aspects of employment. </li><li>Ability to incorporate lightheartedness and humor into the workplace. </li><li>Ability to grow in interpersonal and technical skills with the held belief of being a lifelong learner. </li><li>Ability to make independent decisions as well as work collaboratively with other staff, administrators, families, and community members. </li><li>Ability to serve as a think-partner and use critical thinking skills to perform tasks and make decisions. </li><li>Ability to apply policies, procedures, statutes, and regulations accurately. </li><li>Ability to effectively and efficiently perform work in a fast-paced environment with competing demands through organization, attention to detail, and prioritization. </li><li>Ability to admit faults, learn from mistakes, and take calculated risks. </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours and remain flexible to changes in assignments or situations. </li><li>Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Depending upon individual assignment, the Office Professional V performs all or a combination of several of the following duties. This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.</p> <ul> <li>Directly supports the principal or Director in maintaining schedules, meetings, evaluations, observation scheduling, etc. </li><li>Ensures compliance with legal and administrative requirements. </li><li>Assists with the monitoring with legal and administrative requirements. </li><li>Assists it the development and monitoring of building/department budgets as audite4d by the State of Washington. </li><li>Oversees ASB budgets that are audited by the State of Washington and ensures compliance. </li><li>Maintains working relationships with vendors and/or contractors. </li><li>Assists with the monitoring of District and worksite budgets or financial aspects associated with the budget. </li><li>Oversees other staff or has department oversight responsibilities. </li><li>Assists in administration of programs and projects. </li><li>Orients assigned personnel to their job requirements. </li><li>Assists with oversight of the workload of department for maximizing efficiency and meeting operational requirements. </li><li>Prepares written materials for conveying information regarding school or district activities. </li><li>Monitors assigned activities and programs, timelines, etc. </li><li>Advanced skills and knowledge in assigned areas. </li><li>General clerical support. </li><li>General level skills & knowledge relative to assigned functions, record keeping, and office equipment. </li><li>Specific knowledge or experience in assigned area. </li><li>Providing timely and accurate information. </li><li>Maintains records, schedules, files, and/or rosters. </li><li>Communicates information with students, staff, administrators, families, and the community. </li><li>Supports compliance with financial, legal, and administrative requirements. </li><li>Composes documents for communication outreach. </li><li>Evaluates situations and acts appropriately. </li><li>Assists in supervising student workers. </li><li>Assists others in preparation for their work. </li><li>Exercises FERPA laws regarding student confidentiality. </li><li>Follows and actively supports District and building initiatives. </li><li>Maintains confidentiality and tact in all aspects of employment. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and support an inclusive, equitable school environment. </li><li>Maintains a positive attitude and views students with an asset-based approach. </li><li>Supports the District's Strategic Plan and the School Improvement Plan of assigned building. </li><li>Abides by all District Policies and Procedures as well as all applicable statutes and guidelines. </li><li>Reports incidents as appropriate for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students, providing a positive environment, and adhering to education code, district, and/or school policies. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul>
