Distinctive curricula in an international, culturally diverse supportive learning environment prepare graduates for life and leadership in an increasingly interconnected world.</p> <p>Position Description Summary/Purpose:</p> <p>The women's program will compete at the NCAA level. This position recruits, trains and provides guidance to members of the Row team in a manner which promotes the academic, athletic and social success of athletes and is consistent with the mission and goals of the University of Bridgeport Athletic Department. The inaugural season will be begin fall 2025.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>(The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.)</p> <ul> <li>Represent the University of Bridgeport and the Athletic Department in a positive manner with a high degree of integrity and quality. </li><li>Promote and support the University of Bridgeport and its mission. </li><li>Recruit student-athletes for the 25-26 academic year, and therefore after in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations. </li><li>Promote Row at the University of Bridgeport </li><li>Provide leadership in the planning and operation of the program. </li><li>Administer within the policies of University of Bridgeport, team conference, and NCAA rules. </li><li>Organize and facilitate all daily practice sessions, contest preparation, competition and off-season training. </li><li>Adhere to operating, equipment and scholarship budgets as established by the Athletic Department. </li><li>Delegate responsibilities to crew coaches and squad members. </li><li>Develop and maintain a successful recruiting system while maintaining a high level of visibility. </li><li>Assist in promotion and public relations activities for the University of Bridgeport Athletic Department. </li><li>Supervise and evaluate crew coaches. </li><li>Schedule contests in accordance with the policies set forth by the University of Bridgeport Athletic Department. </li><li>Coordinate travel and meal considerations for away contests. </li><li>Select coaches in cooperation with the Vice President of Athletics and Recreation. </li><li>Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed. </li></ul> <p>Other Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates. </li><li>Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends. </li><li>Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Ability and Skill:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity. </li></ul>
