<p>Job Title: Software Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Under general supervision, design, develop, troubleshoot, and analyze software programs for computer-based systems. Perform system modeling, simulation, and analysis. Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. As required, provide inputs for documentation of new or existing programs.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and troubleshoot software programs for computer-based systems. </li><li>Perform system modeling, simulation, and analysis. </li><li>Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. </li><li>Contribute to the documentation of new or existing programs. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in C++ or Java programming in a Linux operating system. </li><li>Experience in software design, design implementation, subsystem and system integration, and testing. </li><li>Experience with software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review, and software acceptance reviews. </li><li>Knowledge of IDEs such as Eclipse and experience with Linux, embedded software, Java, object-oriented programming, UML, and UNIX. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Object-Oriented design/development, including the use of Design Patterns and software insulation techniques. </li><li>2+ years of experience in software development with C++. </li><li>Experience with Python and Bash is a plus. </li><li>Familiarity with Windows, Solaris, and Linux environments. </li><li>Experience developing Solaris and other variants of UNIX scripts. </li><li>Familiarity with the xUnit framework, especially JUnit and CppUnitLite. </li><li>Experience with CMMI Level 5 life cycle processes and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Work will be performed at a facility in support of the Aegis Missile Defense program. The position offers long-term contracts, PTO flexibility, and a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. The program is a stable work environment with a history of over 40 years, utilized by the US Navy and multiple international allies.
