<p>Description</p> <p>Boulder CountyParks & Open SpaceDepartment is seeking to hire a Seasonal Water Resource Field Technician.This position works in collaboration with Water Resources staff to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties in executing field operations and maintenance on water infrastructure and assets. This position performs physical field work throughout the duration of the season and a small percentage of time is dedicated to water level observations, data collection, and reporting. We are looking for candidates that are highly motivated, self-starters and who possess the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as operate independently under minimal oversight when required. Preferred candidates are those who take pride in their work, possess excellent communication skills, and an ability to be flexible within the scope of an ever-changing workload. Candidates should have the ability and desire to interact professionally and cooperatively with all levels of staff and be comfortable representing Parks & Open Space in the field. This seasonal water resources position is an excellent opportunity for those interested in water resources and agriculture.</p> <p>This is an hourly, non-benefitedposition that will work 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. This position will work out of5201 St. Vrain Road, Longmont,Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt(eligible for overtime).</p> <p>Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.</p> <p>Hiring Salary Range: $24.04Hourly</p> <p>Tentative Hiring Timeline:</p> <ul> <li>First Round Interviews: May 30th </li><li>Reference Check: June 2nd </li></ul> <p>Boulder County employees may qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). Visit studentaid.gov for more information.</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Conduct maintenance on ditches and reservoirs owned by Boulder County to ensure the functionality of ditch and reservoir infrastructure as a means to reliably deliver and store water </li><li>Perform mechanical removal of vegetation from ditches and reservoirs through the use of a variety of hand tools, power tools, and small equipment (this includes, but is not limited to: loppers, hand saws, shovels, chainsaws, weed eaters, walk behind and riding mowers, brush chippers, and mini-excavators) </li><li>Assist with the installation and maintenance of flumes and stilling wells; weirs, pumps, and other infrastructure as necessary </li><li>Assist with monitoring of reservoir levels and other measuring equipment as assigned </li><li>Performs related work, as required </li><li>May be reassigned during emergency situations </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>PLEASE NOTE: When completing your application describe all relevant education and experience, as applications are assessed based on the required qualifications listed. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged.
