<p>The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is seeking to hire an Estimator to join our growing team!</p> <p>Benefits Include:</p> <ul> <li>Competitive Wages </li><li>Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans for you and your family. </li><li>Paid Time Off </li><li>Retirement Plan: 401(k) with company contributions to help you plan for your future. </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to understand the scope and requirements of utility construction projects. </li><li>Conduct site visits to gather relevant data and assess project conditions. </li><li>Utilize estimating software and industry knowledge to ensure precision in cost calculations. </li><li>Prepare comprehensive bids and proposals in response to RFP's (Request for Proposals) and other tender documents. </li><li>Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing. </li><li>Work closely with project managers and superintendents to ensure that cost estimates align with budgetary constraints. </li><li>Collaborate on value engineering and cost-saving measures without compromising project quality. </li><li>Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and propose mitigation strategies. </li><li>Evaluate contractual terms and conditions to ensure alignment with company standards. </li><li>Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and resolve inquiries. </li><li>Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimating activities. </li><li>Stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and advancements in construction technology. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Bachelor's degree in: Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or have related field equivalent experience (Journeyman Lineman, Journeyman Substation Tech, etc). </li><li>Proven experience as an Estimator in the utility construction industry. </li><li>Proficiency in construction estimating software </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project, Excel, Word, etc) and or Primavera P6 </li><li>Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry best practices. </li><li>Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. </li><li>Effective communication and negotiation abilities. </li><li>Adherence to safety standards and regulations. </li></ul>
