UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is looking for a Casual Crisis Clinicians to join our Walk-In Clinic at resolve Crisis Services! resolve is a 24-hour, 365-day Crisis Walk-In Clinic providing support to individuals experiencing self-identified crisis.</p> <p>For more information, visit: resolve Crisis Services | UPMC</p> <p>This is a Casual role working varying shifts as needed.</p> <p>Crisis Clinician levels from Associate, Clin I and Clin II will be considered for this role. The title and pay rate (minimum rate for Associate is $20.52, Clinician I is $23.61, Clinician II is $24.78) for these positions may vary depending on education level and years of experience.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Complete Crisis Clinician orientation and training. </li><li>Manage shift caseloads under supervision. </li><li>Develop skills in assessment, de-escalation, documentation, and motivational interviewing. </li><li>Use Electronic Medical Records for information and documentation. </li><li>Provide person-centered, strength-based counseling to promote stability. </li><li>Work independently and efficiently in crisis settings. </li><li>Coordinate referrals and collaborate on disposition planning. </li><li>Advocate for appropriate program admissions (Crisis Residential, Walk-In). </li><li>Conduct face-to-face crisis assessments and respond to support calls. </li><li>Handle crisis situations using positive, effective strategies. </li><li>Meet documentation standards and complete required paperwork. </li><li>Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and case reviews. </li><li>Support therapeutic milieu and ensure safety. </li></ul> <p>Crisis Clinician Associate:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work. </li></ul> <p>Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience</p> <ul> <li>Consistent ability to respond calmly and effectively, using good clinical judgment to both psychiatric and medical emergencies. </li><li>Recovery-oriented interpersonal relations. </li><li>Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and to assume on call responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>Crisis Clinician I:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work with one (1) year mental health direct care experience. </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work and no experience. </li></ul> <p>Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience</p> <ul> <li>Includes phone triaging, as well as an in-depth knowledge and proven skill at doing psychiatric assessments. </li><li>Experience in mental health crisis intervention, case management, or in-home therapy preferred. </li><li>Excellent, recovery-oriented interpersonal relations. </li><li>Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and to assume on call responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>Crisis Clinician II:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work with two (2) years mental health direct care experience with one (1) year crisis experience. </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work with one (1) year mental health direct care experience. </li></ul> <p>Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience</p> <ul> <li>Work history that includes phone triage, as well as an in-depth knowledge and proven skill at doing psychiatric assessments. </li><li>Experience in mental health crisis intervention, case management, or in-home therapy preferred. </li><li>Excellent, recovery-oriented interpersonal relations </li><li>Licensure in social work or professional counseling is preferred. </li><li>Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and to assume on call responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:</p> <p>Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)</p> <p>Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)</p> <p>Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal</p> <p>Act 33 with renewal</p> <p>Act 34 with renewal</p> <p>Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal</p> <p>OAPSA</p> <p>UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran</p>
