<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, the Nurse Clinician 2 performs professional nursing work requiring a license as a Registered Nurse by the State of Wisconsin. The incumbent is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to a mostly geriatric and/or disabled population at the Wisconsin Veterans Home (WVH) in King. The Nurse Clinician 2 provides direction to other staff in the provision and coordination of member care, and monitors care given by other health team members on a unit, floor, or in a building. All activities are performed in accordance with applicable standards of practice, facility policy and procedures, facility, and governmental rules and regulations.</p> <p>A copy of the full job description is available to view.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting wage is $42.86 - $49.61 per hour, plus additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.</p> <p>Nurse Clinician 2 is in pay schedule-pay range 11-02. For current or eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire.</p> <p>This job does not offer employee benefits.</p> <p>This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>These are flexible part-time positions with the option to pick up additional hours as desired with no required overtime. Shifts are available AM, PM, NOC, holidays and weekends. Candidate preferences gathered at time of interview.</p> <p>LTE jobs are limited to 1039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits.</p> <p>Job duties require the ability to assist in patient mobility efforts, stand and/or walk up to 75% of eight-hour day to provide assessments, kneel, stoop, make visual observations, lift, push, pull, carry, reach, maintain hygiene, use special safety equipment, and wear protective clothing.</p> <p>These requirements cover the major and essential functions of the position but are not necessarily representative of all duties which this position may be assigned to perform.</p> <p>Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.</p> <p>Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will</p> <ul> <li>have a current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Wisconsin or a Nurse Licensure Compact state, or </li><li>be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in Wisconsin or Nurse Licensure Compact prior to hire. </li></ul> <p>Additional required and preferred training and/or experience that will be assessed later in the selection process are:</p> <ul> <li>Providing nursing care (e.g., assessing, and documenting patient status, clinical experience, providing direct and indirect patient care, administering medication and treatments, investigating, and solving problems, directing activities based on patient needs, etc.) </li><li>Administration of medication and treatments </li><li>Using electronic technology & applications (e.g., computer, email, word processing, internet, electronic charting systems, medication & treatment administration record etc.) </li><li>Working collaboratively (e.g., establishing positive relationships, working on a team, interpersonal relationships, etc.) </li><li>Organizing and prioritizing (e.g., time management, task importance, etc.) </li><li>Leading (e.g., interdisciplinary healthcare teams, developing and implementing care plans, training individuals, correcting behaviors, assisting, and mentor staff, etc.); and/or </li><li>Relevant setting (e.g., long-term care, geriatric, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Per Wisconsin Statute 230.26, Wisconsin residency is required for LTE appointments.
