<p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide technical expertise for process design, system optimization, quality control, commissioning & start-up, and troubleshooting of equipment and process systems. </li><li>Works closely with the operations, maintenance, and technical team to identify and implement process modifications that improve safety, quality, productivity, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and reduce process variability in a team atmosphere. </li><li>Helps develop and implement technical training programs for the operators and lab technicians. </li><li>Continually build relationships with operators and management to enable knowledge sharing that may uncover the best solution to a problem. </li><li>Performs routine testing of key process variables to ensure online process instrumentation accuracy. </li><li>Make appropriate recommendations to facilitate continuous improvement. </li><li>Works with available resources to statistically analyze processes and process data to develop and sustain optimal operating centerlines. </li><li>Supports the Process Engineer to troubleshoot potential issues and provide back-up support for paper testing lab and CFI lab. </li><li>Manages process changes and chemical additives/machine trials. </li><li>Provide plant support in troubleshooting root cause analysis (RCA) of process and equipment issues. </li><li>Troubleshooting machines, tooling, and process. </li><li>Recording, understanding, and monitoring important process parameters (centerlines) </li><li>Troubleshooting quality defects. </li><li>Improving production efficiency and reducing equipment downtime. </li><li>Strictly follow quality control work instructions, standard operation procedures, and safety protocol. </li><li>Finding and eliminating safety risks that may exist to promote a safe and effective work environment. </li><li>Comply with GMP </li><li>Complete tasks assigned by supervisor or management as necessary. </li></ul> <p>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of pulp and paper manufacturing processes, materials and equipment </li><li>Strong project management skills: excellent organizational skills with ability to focus on details. </li><li>Must possess strong communication skills. </li><li>Must have a positive attitude towards teamwork and improvement of the process. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Technical Degree or greater in Engineering or related field. </li><li>A minimum of 2 years pulp experience. </li><li>Three to five years of experience in process troubleshooting. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment-Hourly Positions:</p> <p>Our manufacturing plant is not environmentally controlled. Changes in humidity and temperature occur throughout the year. Although machine noise is a constant, conditions are maintained within standards that meet OSHA mandated requirements, and which our Safety Committee monitors.</p> <p>Other</p> <p>Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures regarding employment, safety, quality, product safety and legality, security, and regulatory compliance as applicable.</p>
