Special emphasis is placed on high-hazard industries and "At Risk Employers" identified through occupational injury, illness, and Experience Modifier Rates. The position also assists the OSHA Consultation Manager with implementing the Workers' Compensation Cost Containment Act and oversees OSHA Consultation Consultants to ensure field offices effectively carry out program goals and procedures.</p> <p>The Office of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers' compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. The department manages disputed claims, conducts hearings, reviews medical treatment disputes, and investigates fraud through collaborative efforts like the GAME ON task force.</p> <p>AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:</p> <ul> <li>Building and Supporting Teams: The ability to combine one's actions and efforts with others to work toward achieving a common goal. </li><li>Driving Results: The ability to set and pursue goals, maintain focus amid competing demands, deliver results.  </li><li>Making Accurate Judgements: The ability to assess options, weigh risks, and make sound decisions using available information and logical reasoning.Six years of experience in industrial or occupational health or safety, risk management, or safety inspection, monitoring, or consultation; OR </li></ul> <p>Six years of full-time work experience plus three years of experience in industrial or occupational health or safety, risk management, or safety inspection, monitoring, or consultation; OR</p> <p>A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in industrial or occupational health or safety, risk management, or safety inspection, monitoring, or consultation; OR</p> <p>An advanced degree plus two years of experience in industrial or occupational health or safety, risk management, or safety inspection, monitoring, or consultation.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:</p> <p>Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field.
