The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Reporting to VP, Labor Relations, the person in this role will provide strategic advice and counsel to internal clients regarding single employer and industry-wide collective bargaining agreements and the National Labor Relations Act, and represent the Company in collective bargaining agreement negotiations. The role will also handle and provide counsel on labor grievances and arbitrations, National Labor Relations Board matters, and other related litigation for the Company.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide strategic advice and counsel to internal clients, including business & legal affairs, creative executives, HR professionals, business leaders, and production teams regarding labor laws and union contractual obligations </li><li>Act as legal counsel in union grievances, labor arbitrations, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, and manage outside counsel as needed </li><li>Working with other labor relations attorneys, coordinate labor litigation strategy across NBCUniversal business units and track litigation matters and trends </li><li>Represent Company in collective bargaining negotiations </li><li>Provide production support for scripted and unscripted programming </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Basic Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Law degree </li><li>Member in good standing of the State Bar of California or member in good standing of another State Bar and registered as in-house counsel </li><li>4+ years for Counsel/7+ years for Sr. Counsel of relevant experience in litigation, employment law, labor law, or related entertainment transactional work </li><li>First- or second-chair arbitration/litigation experience, including labor arbitrations and matters before the National Labor Relations Board </li></ul> <p>Desired Characteristics:</p> <ul> <li>Entertainment industry experience </li><li>Outstanding analytic, communication and organizational skills </li><li>Collaborative, team-oriented approach </li><li>Ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and effectively </li><li>Ability to manage multi-function teams from diverse business units </li><li>Ability to build consensus, think creatively, and proactively identify Company needs with regard to employee relations matters </li><li>Ability to build relationships across a large organization </li></ul> <p>Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.</p> <p>This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
