We recognize the importance of creating a work environment that is both rewarding to our employees and supportive of our unwavering commitment to provide unparalleled service to our clients.</p> <p>Purpose</p> <p>Assist in management of MEP division, including directing the technical production functions and all personnel decisions.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Leadership and Direction</p> <ul> <li>Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance. </li><li>Provide oversight and direction of department or business unit including strategy, budgeting, staff, and deliverables. </li></ul> <p>At the Operational and Company Level</p> <ul> <li>Assist with business development activities for current and prospective clients. </li><li>Coordinate with other internal departments to meet project requirements. </li><li>Assist engineering teams regarding projects, tasks, and operations. </li><li>Ensure the production and technical quality of the design, drawings, specifications, surveys, studies, reports and other products and services of the department. </li><li>Demonstrate and ensure conformance with company philosophy, policies, and procedures. </li><li>Oversee and support department managers with planning and direction of activities of department staff including scheduling and monitoring budgets and quality of work. </li><li>Oversee and support department managers with monitoring department's time utilization and staffing levels. </li><li>Gather and analyze market intelligence for new projects and opportunities. </li><li>Foster and develop positive customer relationships which result in increased business. </li><li>Understand customer needs and assist in the development of project solutions that satisfy those requirements and provide opportunities. </li><li>Maximize contact with key accounts, key contacts and other critical people at various client organizations and focus efforts to obtain new work and generation of new enquiries for the business. </li><li>Provide inputs to management based on market information to enable the organization to develop capability in areas to give us strategic leverage for future projects. </li></ul> <p>Do the Work</p> <ul> <li>Assist in hiring, training, retaining and developing MEP engineering staff and department management. </li><li>Educate and encourage team of professionals to apply engineering practices that adhere to applicable laws and regulations. </li><li>Assist with projects in the department to ensure that the work is executed on time and on budget and in accordance with the client's requirements and within company policies and procedures. </li><li>Provide work assignments and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff. </li><li>Research and collect outstanding monies due from clients. </li><li>Keep current on engineering trends and developments to recommend changes in program or design methods. </li><li>Communicate effectively with client, internal project team, sub-consultants, and contractors. </li><li>Develop project proposals, budgets, cost standards and schedules. </li></ul> <p>Success Metrics and </li><li>Commitment to driving profitability and growth. </li><li>Basic understanding of financial reports and metrics. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering required. </li><li>Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. </li><li>Seven or more (7+) years of design, project management, supervision, and client relationship experience. </li><li>Demonstrated experience and competency in managing the financial, marketing, human resources, and operational aspects of an engineering department. </li><li>A proven track record of innovation, leadership, and creativity. </li><li>Knowledgeable of AutoCAD, REVIT, Trane Trace and or eQuest modeling software. </li><li>LEED accreditation preferred. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands and Working Environment</p> <ul> <li>Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic. </li><li>Mobility around an office environment. </li><li>Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. </li><li>Occasionally outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards. </li><li>Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). </li><li>Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business. </li><li>Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds. </li><li>Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds. </li><li>Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder. </li></ul> <p>Salary and eligible variable compensation (if any) commensurate with experience.
