Our caregivers treat over 61,000 adult and pediatric patients annually, providing a critical link to healthcare for our community, the region and the world (through Cleveland Clinic Critical Care Transport). As Paramedic on this team, you will provide emergency treatment to patients in need of immediate attention. This role offers you the unmatched opportunity to save lives and make a lasting difference in your community every day.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00AM-7:30PM.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide duties that assist in providing patient care in the Emergency Department under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.</p> </li><li> <p>Obtain and record vital signs,</p> </li><li> <p>Perform EKGs, CPR, phlebotomy and oral, nasal and ET suctioning.</p> </li><li> <p>Initiate cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy and saline locks.</p> </li><li> <p>Notify the RN and/or physician of rhythm changes.</p> </li><li> <p>Apply orthopaedic appliances and simple splints.</p> </li><li> <p>Size crutches and teach crutch walking.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with equipment setup, chest tubes, gastric lavage, LP, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with restraint and seclusion of patients and apply restraint devices.</p> </li><li> <p>Transport patients and specimens.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with sterile procedures and cleaning and maintaining supplies and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform fluid/drug administration.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic Training Program</p> </li><li> <p>Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).</p> </li><li> <p>Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic Training Program</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Certification</p> </li><li> <p>One year of experience as an EMT-P</p> </li></ul> <p>Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
