This position will provide support to the UH at Manoa, School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene (SONDH), Office of Research. Expected to begin approximately September 2025 or as mutually acceptable. To know more about the UH at Manoa, SONDH, go to:https://nursing.hawaii.edu/.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for providing analytical, financial and training activities in support of contract and grant proposal development, funding, administration, and budget development. </li><li>Oversees the pre- and post- award, account establishment and maintenance, budget and budget forecasting, procurement, personnel, disbursing, reporting, and closeout. </li><li>Manages the federal, revolving and extramural funds allocated to the School. </li><li>Prepares, audits and approves financial/personnel transactions and documentation and ensures compliance with applicable University, State and Federal rules and regulations. </li><li>Manages research portfolios by coordinating and identifying and developing and/or presenting proposals, contracts and other agreements. </li><li>Reviews proposals to ensure institutional compliance and program success; negotiating, administering and monitoring contract and grant awards, including compliance with regulations, terms and conditions, financial management and reporting, and sub award / subcontract issuance and administration. </li><li>Provides principal investigators (PI) guidance on appropriate policies and procedures, grant/project compliance/requirements; on evaluating, and negotiating of contracts; and periodic updates/reports on projects/grants. </li><li>Audits RCUH service orders and revolving projects including tracking and processing documents in the RCUH system to ensure compliance w/ RCUH & Federal guidelines. </li><li>Reviews all UH Foundation (UHF) purchasing and payment documents, tracking UHF payments and contributions and reconciles funds. </li><li>Verifies and approves cost-sharing and FTE certification reports; prepares monthly cash report for special and revolving accounts. </li><li>Prepares fiscal documents, including but not limited to requisitions, purchase orders, payment documents, in compliance with UH, state, federal, RCUH, and other sponsor guidelines. </li><li>Provides training to PIs and support staff in the use of UH web-based systems such as RCUH HR and Financial portals, KFS, myGRANT, eTravel, SuperQuote and other financial, research administration and personnel information systems. </li><li>Works with human resources in processing UH and RCUH personnel-related transactions like hiring, payroll and the like. </li><li>Serves as an alternate fiscal administrator in the management of the day-to-day operations of SONDH's Administrative Services Offices in the absence of the Chief Administrative Officer or designee. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>() Denotes Essential Duties</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management or related field, and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for general accounting, fiscal management, grants management, and/or budgeting; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated. </li><li>Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the accounting, budgeting, human resources management, procurement, and/or contract management as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies. </li><li>Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with accounting, budgeting, human resources management, procurement, and/or contract management. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective, innovative and timely manner. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software. </li><li>If applicable, for supervisory work, demonstrated ability to lead subordinates, manage work priorities and projects, and manage employee relations. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively and independently manage time and workflow to meet competing deadlines, ensure accuracy across various responsibilities, and demonstrate flexibility when priorities shift. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the business office environment. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to operate enterprise-level accounting systems. </li><li>Demonstrated good work ethics. </li></ul> <p>Desirable Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Working knowledge of UH, RCUH and UHF administrative policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>To Apply:</p> <p>Click on the "Apply" button on the top right corner of the screen and attach the required documents.
