The company is dedicated to transforming defense systems through innovation, efficiency, and mission-critical results.</p> <p>Overview:</p> <p>We are seeking a highly skilled Surface Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Lead Systems Engineer with deep domain expertise in SONAR systems, particularly AN/SQQ-89 and Integrated Combat System Processing (ICP). This role is based in our Fall River, MA office and will lead digital integration efforts for next-generation surface ship acoustic systems.</p> <p>As the ASW Systems Integration Lead, you will drive the development and deployment of virtualized tactical acoustic systems integrated with IDT's Automated Test and Re-Test (ATRT) Enterprise Platform (AEP). You will play a central role in enabling model-based system engineering (MBSE), system virtualization, hardware emulation, and real-time modeling and simulation within an Integrated Digital Engineering Environment (IDEE). This position demands strategic vision, cross-functional leadership, and technical excellence.</p> <p>All applicants must be able to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Security Clearance.</p> <p>Applicants who currently have a U.S. Security Clearance are preferred.</p> <p>Responsibilities Include:</p> <ul> <li>Architect and manage integration of software virtualization, hardware emulation, and simulation components to form a robust, government-owned digital twin test environment. </li><li>Develop and implement advanced strategies for validating and verifying system-of-systems (SoS) representations across diverse surface combat platforms. </li><li>Serve as the primary technical liaison with Navy stakeholders, advocating for system requirements, fidelity needs, and optimization of the Integrated Digital Engineering Environment (IDEE). </li><li>Direct efforts to integrate ATRT AEP into surface combat systems to ensure full mission execution capabilities within classified virtual test beds. </li><li>Drive the sustainment and periodic updates of digital representations and integrated test environments to maintain alignment with evolving operational capabilities. </li><li>Identify gaps and opportunities in the Navy's digital transformation initiatives and lead innovation to address them. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field. (Master's preferred). </li><li>10+ years of progressive experience in the defense sector, particularly in digital systems development, integration, and test environments. </li><li>Deep familiarity with active and passive SONAR systems, including AN/SQQ-89 and ICP. </li><li>Solid grasp of DoD operational and tactical network infrastructure. </li></ul> <p>Required skills:</p> <ul> <li>Proven experience in defense system integration and testing, including both server and desktop virtualization environments </li><li>Demonstrated ability to translate complex program requirements into technically sound, cost-effective system solutions </li><li>Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing technical teams through system design, integration, and deployment phases. </li><li>Comfortable supporting and advising on acoustic kill chain integration and ASW digital transformation. </li><li>Ability to navigate classified environments, ensuring compliance with security protocols and data handling standards. </li><li>Strong relationships within the ASW community </li><li>Familiar with virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, or similar. </li><li>Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams under technical, budgetary, and timeline constraints. </li><li>Comfortable engaging directly with Navy leadership and technical stakeholders. </li><li>Willingness to travel up to 10% as required. </li></ul> <p>Preferred skills:</p> <ul> <li>Operational experience with ASW CONOPS, surface/submarine platforms, and tactical systems such as SWFTS, Aegis, and AN/BYG-1. </li><li>Familiarity with the mission scope of the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) or related agencies. </li><li>Experience navigating acoustic kill chains and mission systems integration in real-world operational environments. </li></ul> <p>Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Strong leadership, planning, and team management skills. </li><li>Exceptional verbal and written communication. </li><li>Meticulous attention to detail and high standards of accuracy. </li><li>Customer-centric mindset with strong reliability and initiative. </li><li>Demonstrated success in digital engineering transformation within defense programs. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range*: $164,000 - $273,000 or $198,000 - $328,000</p> <p>This amount may not be reflective of actual compensation that may be earned as pay is dependent on a candidate's experience, skills, and education. The posted range does not include bonuses, commissions, tips, or other benefits. IDT is often looking to place multiple candidates at various levels.
