With around-the-clock expertise for critical health issues, including experts in trauma, heart care, burns, significant wounds, stroke, brain surgery and more, Legacy Emanuel is central to the health of our community and critical to the care of the Northwest.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, high-level disinfection, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, trays, equipment, and case carts used in medical and surgical patient care. Other duties include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Distribute flexible scopes, biopsy instruments, traveling video carts, and other supplies and equipment used in endoscopic patient care.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the set-up, changeover, and stocking of procedure rooms.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated for safe handling.</p> </li><li> <p>Assemble and package instruments for sterilization according to procedure.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor sterilization and processing equipment for proper functioning and maintain required documentation records.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate computer systems properly and safely.</p> </li><li> <p>Assemble case carts, house-wide procedure carts, and instrument drawers accurately and timely to ensure availability for surgery.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to routine and non-routine requests for materials, supplies, instruments, and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Record and maintain department quality-management indicators.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote professional growth and development of self and others.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required. </li><li>Completion of Central Service operations course or at least 6 months experience in Central Sterile or equivalent instrument based experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated understanding of the principles and methods of sterilization. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the importance of infection control and good aseptic techniques. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the importance of documentation. </li><li>Demonstrated thorough knowledge of instruments and scopes. </li><li>Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone etiquette. </li><li>Central Service Certification preferred. </li></ul> <p>Licensure</p> <ul> <li>Central Service Certification preferred. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>USD $20.07 - USD $27.18 /Hr.</p> <p>Our Commitment to Health and Equal Opportunity</p> <p>Our Legacy is good for health for Our People, Our Patients, Our Communities, Our World.
