If Temporary, enter End Date: Position Summary</p> <p>The Admissions Advisor will help carry out a full range of first-year and transfer admissions activities. Primary responsibilities include participation in recruitment-related travel and online events, application review, and presentations geared to prospective students and their families. Experience Cortland dives deep into the region's offerings </li></ul> <p>Major Responsibilities</p> <p>Admissions Application Review</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate and make decisions on first-year and transfer student applications for admission </li><li>Collaborate with committee members to ensure fair and consistent evaluation standards </li><li>Respond to and reach out to prospective students via phone, email and other communication platforms </li></ul> <p>Participate in Recruitment Travel</p> <ul> <li>Represent SUNY Cortland at recruitment events, such as college fairs, school visits, and community events </li><li>Engage with prospective students, parents, educators, and stakeholders </li><li>Enhance the university's reputation through networking opportunities </li></ul> <p>Appointments/Group Presentations/Campus Events</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver group presentations during Information Sessions, Open Houses, Mini-Open House programs, virtual events, and bus trips </li><li>Meet with prospective students and their families </li><li>Answer phone calls and respond to emails from prospective students or families inquiring about SUNY Cortland </li></ul> <p>Functional and Supervisory Relationships</p> <ul> <li>Reports to the Sr. Associate Director of Admissions </li><li>Works closely with Admissions Office staff, Faculty, Advisement and Transition Office and other administrative offices </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Experience in higher education or experience in sales, marketing, or communications </li><li>A willingness and ability to travel </li><li>A willingness and ability to perform occasional evening and weekend work </li><li>A valid driver's license </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree </li><li>Experience working in a higher education admissions office as a professional, tour guide or intern </li><li>Experience in admissions application review or other similar decision-making process </li><li>Experience with SLATE or another customer service management software </li><li>Experience with Banner or another Student database systems </li><li>Experience with OnBase or another document imaging software </li></ul> <p>About the University</p> <p>A top public university of approximately 6,600 students located in the geographic center of New York State, SUNY Cortland provides accessible, affordable education to students from across the U.S. body.
