The hospital offers outstanding ancillary services including Laboratory, Radiology and Therapy services. At our Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, women can have their annual mammograms, biopsies, and can meet with a nurse navigator if needed. The Women's Center offers six newly remodeled labor and delivery suites and has a secure nursery for the care of our newborns. Learn more about our amazing facility at https://www.morristownhamblen.com/.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Provides professional nursing care within an outpatient clinic setting and coordinates care planning with other disciplines as appropriate.</p> <p>Recruiter: Jennifer Lawless || jlawles2@covhlth.com || 423-492-5011</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Adheres to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards. </li><li>Precepts new employees/students as needed. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with office manager or clinical instructor/supervisor. </li><li>Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection control policies. </li><li>Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment. Accurately records history and performs basic triage procedures per policy. </li><li>After retrieving condition of patients, creates nursing history and discusses recommendations for appropriate interventions to appropriate practitioner. </li><li>Clinical expertise and knowledge is such that individual can resolve complex patient/management/physician problems without direct supervision </li><li>Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication. </li><li>Assists providers with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care. </li><li>Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families during their visit. </li><li>Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc. </li><li>Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and well-maintained equipment. </li><li>Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur. </li><li>Schedules all outside patient appointments per physician order and relays accurately to patients. </li><li>Take calls from hospitals/nursing homes and relays appropriate information to practitioner in a timely manner. </li><li>Assure test results are received and relayed to the patient in a timely manner. </li><li>Completes medical orientation checklist. </li><li>Initiates appropriate patient education. </li><li>Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members. </li><li>Implements care appropriate to diagnosis and per physician order. </li><li>Problem solves and coordinates clinic patient care with physician supervision. </li><li>Demonstrates competence in performing skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served. </li><li>Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. </li><li>Collaborate with the patient, physician and other care team members as part of a team-based approach to overall patient care. </li><li>Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education:</p> <p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p> <p>Minimum Experience:</p> <p>Minimum of three (3) years of professional nursing experience. Minimum 1 year of wound care experience preferred.</p> <p>Licensure Requirement:</p> <p>Must have a valid Tennessee RN license. CPR, OSHA training annually.</p> <p>RN License</p>
