<p>Job Description:</p> <p>2025-2026 VACANCY</p> <p>Literacy Specialist/Interventionist</p> <p>Deep River Elementary School</p> <p>Summary: A 1.0 Literacy Specialist/Interventionist position is available at Deep River Elementary School. A 102 certification is required.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities and Impact:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Instructional Coaching and Professional Development:</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitates professional learning sessions on Bookworms (Grades K-3) and EL Education (Grades 4-6).</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures consistency and fidelity in literacy instruction, programming, and resource utilization.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with district ELA personnel, principals, and the assistant superintendent to develop curriculum pacing guides and ensure vertical alignment.</p> </li><li> <p>Support for Teachers and PLCs:</p> </li><li> <p>Works closely with grade-level Professional Learning Communities to plan instruction, analyze data, and adjust Tier I instruction.</p> </li><li> <p>Offers ongoing instructional coaching including:</p> </li><li> <p>Lesson planning</p> </li><li> <p>Assessment design</p> </li><li> <p>Co-teaching and modeling effective literacy strategies</p> </li><li> <p>Student-Centered Roles:</p> </li><li> <p>Administers three benchmark literacy assessments annually for students in Grades K-3.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides Tier I support for 11 students to reinforce classroom instruction and address skill gaps.</p> </li><li> <p>Delivers targeted Tier II and Tier III intervention.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribution to MTSS:</p> </li><li> <p>Serves on the school's MTSS Core Team.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyzes schoolwide student performance data to identify trends, needs, and intervention strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Resource Management:</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees the book room and manages the inventory of instructional texts.</p> </li><li> <p>Orders decodable and leveled book sets to support small-group and individualized instruction in Tiers II and III.</p> </li></ul> <p>Start Date: ASAP</p> <p>Application Deadline: Open until filled</p> <p>Interested candidates please view full job description online and apply at www.reg4.k12.ct.us (click on the employment link)</p> <p>The Chester, Deep River, Essex, Region #4, and Supervision District Boards of Education are equal opportunity/affirmative action employers.
