<p>Current Employees: If you are currently employed at SOMC please log into UKG Pro to use the internal application process.</p> <p>Department: Housekeeping</p> <p>Shift/Schedule: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)</p> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY</p> <p>Works under the supervision of the Environmental Services Manager. The Environmental Services Assistant Manager's primary job function is to coordinate activities of housekeeping personnel engaged in cleaning hospital building areas. Assists Environmental Services Management in planning and preparing work priorities and in assigning duties. Schedules staff to ensure adequate staffing on assigned shifts. Orients and trains new housekeepers in proper cleaning procedures and may perform duties of an Environmental Services Housekeeper when needed. Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>GED/High School Diploma preferred </li></ul> <p>Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Two years experience in healthcare Environmental Services preferred </li></ul> <p>JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS</p> <p>The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Orientates and trains new employees, emphasizing the importance of adhering to prescribed safety practices, techniques and universal precaution procedures, to avoid the spread of infectious diseases.</p> </li><li> <p>Observe workers in performance of duties and demonstrates techniques to improve quality and job efficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for monitoring and controlling use of housekeeping supplies and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates activities of housekeeping personnel engaged in cleaning hospital/building areas.</p> </li><li> <p>Inspects work performed by Environmental Services personnel to insure established policies and quality standards are followed and maintained.</p> </li><li> <p>Inspects equipment to ensure proper maintenance is observed. Notifies Environmental Services Management on maintenance or repairs of any equipment malfunction or breakdowns.</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as editor and approver for API's Time and Attendance.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides coverage and assistance to Housekeepers as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides input of performance, competence and behavior of Housekeeping staff to the Environmental Services Leadership team.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees patient flow, terminal cleanings and bed teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitors and schedules equipment to be repaired (i.e. Scrubbers, Burnishers, Vacuums, Shop Vacs, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Creates schedules for special projects, floor work and shampooing on the Main Campus, MOBs, East Campus, South Campus and Wheelersburg.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains daily, weekly, monthly and yearly documentation for Pharmacy Clean Room.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs any other duties required in the operation of the Environmental Services Department.</p> </li></ol> <p>Thank you for your interest in Southern Ohio Medical Center.
