<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Along the rolling, wooded shoreline of the 71,000-acre Strom Thurmond Reservoir, sits Hickory Knob, a full-service, lakeside South Carolina golf resort and remote state park all rolled into one.</p> <p>Tucked away in a serene, remote location, the parks many amenities and recreational opportunities are a pleasant surprise for many. Hickory Knob operates an 18-hole championship golf course, buffet restaurant, skeet shooting, boat ramp, archery range, meeting facilities and more than 70 lodge-style rooms. This South Carolina golf resort is an ideal location for a family getaway, reunion or a business meeting or retreat.</p> <p>Job Purpose and Duties:</p> <p>Performs duties necessary for maintenance and upkeep of state parks to include repair and construction of facilities, operation and repair of motorized equipment, groundskeeping and landscaping activities. Assists with the administration and the operation of a state park; assist park visitors.</p> <p>1) Performs advanced facility and infrastructure maintenance, repairs, and improvements. Assists with more involved tasks and projects including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, landscaping and groundskeeping.</p> <p>2) Performs and directs grounds clean-up and housekeeping activities to assure the attractiveness, cleanliness and safety of park grounds, facilities and work areas.</p> <p>3) Performs maintenance and intermediate repairs on vehicles and motorized equipment. Keeps detailed maintenance records.</p> <p>4) Performs and assists others with performing facilities and grounds inspections, makes recommendations related to maintenance needs, plans and schedules maintenance activities, and assists in maintaining applicable detailed maintenance records.</p> <p>5) Assists the maintenance supervisor in overseeing maintenance projects and tasks including CNST projects and specially funded projects to completion.</p> <p>6) Acquires and/or maintains certifications, licenses and specialized training as required by the department.</p> <p>7) Assists the maintenance supervisor with administrative, operational, and human resource management requirements.</p> <p>8) Practice and promote teamwork within the park and/or region, throughout the agency and with external agency stakeholders. Represents office as an active member on agency teams assigned throughout the year.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year general maintenance experience.</p> <p>Additional Requirements:</p> <p>1) Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking, and standing on uneven terrain, crawling, and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents, and other materials and substances used in maintaining park facilities and grounds.</p> <p>2) Ability to read and understand and formulate written procedures and directions; ability to perform intermediate arithmetic computation. Ability to proficiently operate a variety of power tools and motorized equipment.</p> <p>3) Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Actual Job Location: Hickory Knob State Resort Park</p> <p>Full-time, 40 hours per week rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.</p> <p>This is a reposting.
