<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Contact VHA EDRP Program Support VHAEDRPProgramSupport@va.gov, for questions or assistance on how to begin the application process.</p> <p>Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory</p> <p>CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)</p> <p>Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided</p> <p>Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting</p> <p>General Neurologist - Movement Disorders, EMG, Botox Experience Preferred</p> <p>We are seeking a full-time General Neurologist to join our dynamic neurology team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a broad range of general neurology cases and have clinical experience and interest in movement disorders. Candidates with skills in performing electromyography (EMGs) and administering botulinum toxin (Botox) injections are preferred but not required.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide comprehensive neurological care to patients with diverse conditions, including movement disorders. </li><li>Perform and interpret EMGs and nerve conduction studies. </li><li>Administer Botox injections for therapeutic indications. </li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans. </li><li>Will participate in clinical education and potentially research activities. </li><li>Participate in inpatient on call West Haven with section physicians in rotation </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Board-certified or board-eligible in neurology. </li><li>Comfort with general neurology care. </li><li>Experience or fellowship training in movement disorders is a plus. </li><li>Proficiency in EMG studies and Botox administration is preferred but not required. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills. </li></ul> <p>The Staff Neurologist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provide all services required in the practice of Neurology in the context of the VA system and his/her clinical privileges. </li><li>Provision of outpatient and inpatient neurological consultation with appropriate documentation in the electronic medical record within prescribed timeframes and accuracy. </li><li>Interviews, examines, and selects diagnostic testing appropriately, and interprets/collates results to coordinate patient care. </li><li>Shares after hour call responsibilities with section physicians in rotation. </li><li>Follow facility stroke protocol. </li><li>Provide education to other physicians and healthcare professionals regarding neurological disorders and their treatments. </li><li>Participating in quality assurance activities to ensure patient safety, performance improvement and quality of care. </li><li>Ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality of patient medical information. </li><li>Ensuring accurate CPT coding. </li><li>Ensuring compliance with federal statutes, VA directives and policies, and The Joint Commission Standards. </li><li>Perform administrative functions and other tasks as assigned by the Chief of Service </li><li>Promote professional development through independent study and by attending education programs to increase knowledge base and maintain professional certification. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8am - 4:30pm</p>
