The assistant coach helps teach fundamental skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline while prioritizing student-athlete growth and safety.</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist the head coach with organizing and supervising practices and games</p> </li><li> <p>Instruct players in the fundamentals of football, including offense, defense, and special teams</p> </li><li> <p>Promote good sportsmanship, respect, and academic achievement</p> </li><li> <p>Support team conditioning, training, and injury prevention strategies</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all student-athletes</p> </li><li> <p>Help manage equipment, uniforms, and logistics as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Attend coaches' meetings, training sessions, and school functions as required</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure adherence to school, district, and league policies and procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Any and all other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required and candidate must pass a fingerprint background check as a condition of employment.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prior coaching or playing experience in football (preferably at the youth or middle school level)</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of football rules, strategies, and safety protocols</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and leadership skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and administrators</p> </li><li> <p>CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary and Benefits: The salary for this position is 5% of base teacher salary ($2,462.50 per season), as well as enrollment in a PERA retirement plan and unemployment insurance. Candidates who have previously coached football for Weld Re-9 are eligible for $150 per year as an experience factor.
