<p>Pharmacy Manager</p> <p>Job Purpose:</p> <p>Provides integrated support to patients and physicians by providing a 'hands-on" approach to total quality patient care through the delivery of a full continuum of medication administration from preparing medications to giving pharmacological information to monitoring patient drug therapies and providing adherence support. The pharmacy will be dispensing both retail and specialty medications.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Plans and manages the pharmacy in compliance with all legal and regulatory parameters, in cooperation with all other departments, and as an efficient and profitable business center; </li><li>Is an active member of the Quality Management Committee; </li><li>Builds a high quality, service-oriented pharmacy team; </li><li>Directs, coordinates, and evaluates pharmacy staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; succession planning; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; </li><li>Assures staff training and competency; </li><li>Complies with Human Resources policies. May delegate policy components, but retains responsibility for performance; </li><li>Works with staff to continually develop and implement ideas for delivering high quality, cost effective services, including clinical management programs, adherence and persistency initiatives, etc.; </li><li>Implements record systems and processes for the operating unit; </li><li>Guarantees compliance with the state and federal regulations, accrediting body standards, corporate policies, and standards of performance; </li><li>Oversees pharmacy patient services directly or through a qualified individual with responsibility for policy implementation, patient satisfaction, and performance improvement; </li><li>Participates directly in pharmacy services as required; </li><li>Manages compliance to the Company formulary as applicable; </li><li>Oversees staff allocation Management responsibility for all pharmacy personnel; may direct subordinate managers/supervisors; </li><li>Knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements; </li><li>Works independently; demonstrates leadership in the practice of pharmacy; </li><li>Ability to supervise employees, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments; </li><li>Ability to foster a cooperative work environment; </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with branch departments; </li><li>Employee development and performance management skills; </li><li>Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures; developing and implementing new strategies and procedures; </li><li>Knowledge of computerized information systems, including financial applications; </li><li>Knowledge of specialty pharmacy reimbursement: state, federal and commercial; </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures; </li><li>Knowledge of management principles and practices; </li><li>Ability to develop, plan, and implement short range and long-range goals. </li><li>Oversee internship/education programs; </li><li>Other tasks as assigned; </li></ul> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Required Licensure/Certification: Applicant must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS in Pharmacy and be a licensed Pharmacist in the state of Florida. </li><li>Years of Experience: Required 5+ years, Preferred 8+ years' experience in a clinical pharmacy setting. Leadership experience preferred. </li><li>Skills: Analyze information, administer medication accurately, exercise good judgment, possess strong verbal communication skills, have deep knowledge of pharmacology developments and FDA health regulations, able to manage processes, exhibit strong technical and clinical skills, excellent leader and manager of people, constant focus on legal compliance, highly productive, quality focused, maniacal attention to detail, highly computer proficient (knowledge of the "QS1" and EPIC software systems are a plus) </li><li>Traits: Organized, high-integrity, attention to detail, dependable, quality focus, empathetic, good listener/communicator </li><li>Other: Energetic, highly motivated, team player with strong personal and communication skills; discretion and confidentiality essential as position deals with highly sensitive and private data </li></ul>
