<p>The MRI Assistant will be assigned duties to support the function of the MRI technologist with inpatients, emergency department patients as well as outpatients. Duties include but not limited to: Greets patients, verifies patient procedure, obtains script and properly screens patient for MRI exam. Obtains pertinent patient history.# Asks all screening questions to determine if patients are appropriate for the MRI exam or if there is a contraindication. Answer modality phone, redirects messages to appropriate staff and assists schedulers with MRI patients. Assists in maintaining dressing room clean and orderly. Performs all computer applications related to MRI modality such as Isite, Meditech, PACScube, etc. Confirms MRI appointment for next day patients adhering to all HIPPA guidelines. Assists with setting up and cleaning the MRI room for each patient, such as changing coils, changing sheets, wiping down machine with appropriate disinfectants. Assists with transporting patients within the Medical Imaging department and within the hospital facility whenever necessary. Assists technologist with searches for medical devices; assures MRI safety guidelines are followed. QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or GED, Medical terminology background and Patient care background.# BLS certified or obtain within 6 months of hire.
