Technicians ensure all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained, repaired, and safe so that staff using them can do their jobs as effectively as possible.  </p> <p>We are looking for a full-time Fleet Technician II to join our team. Hours could change during summer months and could include on-call and emergency response as needed.  </p> <p>Total Compensation Package</p> <p>Hiring Range: $31.26 - $39.54/hour (DOQ)</p> <p>Salary Range:  $31.26 -$42.30/hour</p> <p>Free Recreation Center Pass (Gym & Pool)</p> <p>14 paid vacation days (accumulated)</p> <p>10 paid sick days</p> <p>12 paid holidays </p> <p>Additional Leave & Overtime available</p> <p>Stable year-round employment with most evenings and weekends off and a commitment to work-life balance</p> <p>Exceptional medical, dental, & vision insurance with wellness discounts on insurance premiums available</p> <p>40 hour/week set schedule (This position is required to work snow events and other emergency operations outside of normal working hours)</p> <p>6% employer retirement match</p> <p>Paid CDL training</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all of Broomfield's vehicles and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs tune-ups, replaces and checks fluids.</p> </li><li> <p>Checks vehicles bumper to bumper including belts, hoses, brakes, drivelines, transmissions, filters, tires, oil and checking cooling systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts various analyses and inspections of vehicles and mechanical systems to determine the most cost-effective means of maintenance, repair, or replacement.</p> </li><li> <p>Operates a variety of scan tools and diagnostic instruments for automotive, heavy truck and heavy equipment as well as a variety of hand, electric and air-driven tools such as cranes, jacks, hoists, welders, cutting torch, handsaw, etc. </p> </li><li> <p>Repairs vehicles and equipment using cutting torch and welder.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides emergency field assistance to disabled vehicles and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps electronic records of maintenance performed, hours used, mileage used, and parts used.  </p> </li><li> <p>Maintains inventory of parts and supplies used in equipment repair and maintenance.  </p> </li><li> <p>Operates a city issued computer including the input and retrieval of vehicle information. </p> </li><li> <p>Cleans and maintains the shop.  </p> </li><li> <p>Provides coaching and guidance to other employees as needed.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED equivalent </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>2 years of experience in automotive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with diesel powered vehicles and equipment - preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in welding - preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.</p> <p>Required Certifications </p> <ul> <li> <p>Class B CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire</p> </li><li> <p>DFSCP - Diesel Emission inspector certification within 12 months of hire</p> </li></ul> <p>NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:  </p> <p>Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license for continued employment.   New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry, DMV check, and pre-employment physical and drug screen.
