<p>The Director Health Professions (HP) Programs Simulation develops, implements, updates and promotes simulation education in all HP programs. The Director assists the AVP of Health Professions in the supervision and assessment of faculty members; initiate, recommend, and coordinate courses, and instructors for the programs; assist with planning and coordination of adjunct faculty orientation. Ensure program simulation education meets all requirements of the accreditation agency and federal/state requirements. Incumbent reports AVP of Health Professions. Teaches wherever and whenever assigned as determined by instructional needs including branch centers and College off-site locations as necessary.</p> <p>The Director serves as a supervisor, leader, mentor, and role model to students and personnel in the HP programs. The Director is responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of simulation curriculum, and promoting and sustaining a collegial, respectful, and high-performing work environment for all employees.</p> <p> Ability to demonstrate LSSC's core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with faculty in the development and implementation of simulation curriculum for the HP programs skills lab and simulation lab experiences. </li><li>Teach no greater than 9 credit hours where needed each semester. Attend commencement exercises convocations, faculty meetings and College functions. </li><li>Provide administrative oversight to the AVP of Health Professions programs. </li><li>Ensure compliance with accreditation standards. </li><li>Assist in recruiting, hiring, and orientation of qualified skills lab instructors and adjunct faculty. </li><li>Provide input to the Director of Health Professions Operations and AVP of Health Professions Programs regarding budgetary, teaching and planning needs for the simulation areas. </li><li>Collaborate with faculty regarding lab demonstrations, lab testing, standardized testing and remediation testing. </li><li>Coordinate the virtual reality, lab and simulation schedules for all courses in the Health Professions Programs. </li><li>Order and maintain supplies for the skills and simulation lab. </li><li>Maintain current listing of all inventory holdings and completes an annual audit as per college guidelines. </li><li>In collaboration with the faculty, sets up Skills Fairs / Boot Camps each semester. </li><li>Serve on Departmental, Division and College Committees as requested or required. </li><li>Maintain expertise in the field of study and teaching pedagogy. Maintain active participation in professional organizations as appropriate. </li><li>Function as clinical instructor as needed. </li><li>Assist students in developing proficiency in psychomotor nursing skills. </li><li>Community engagement: developing community and industry partnerships </li><li>Uphold all policies and procedures of LSSC. </li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned. </li><li>Knowledge and experience in using advanced technology equipment, including simulators. </li><li>Participate in simulation training programs. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function as part of a team. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate respect, competence, responsiveness and collaboration when interacting with students, employees, visitors, and community members. </li><li>Master's degree in Nursing </li><li>Doctorate in Nursing preferred </li><li>Two (2) most recent years of clinical experience </li><li>Preferred: One (1) year of virtual reality education training experience </li></ul> <p>Educational Credentials (Foreign Degrees)</p> <p>Applicants with foreign transcripts earned outside the United States must submit an evaluation from a credentialing evaluation service recognized by a U.S.-based accrediting body (such as NACES or AICE) to verify that the education/degree meets the minimum requirements for the position. Official transcripts, along with certified English translations if applicable, must be provided within 30 days of hire as a condition of employment.</p>
