<p>Description</p> <p>Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a Patient Services Representative</p> <p>Location: Layton Parkway</p> <p>Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm</p> <p>Essential Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Greet patients in a warm, friendly, and prompt manner </li><li>Gather patient and insurance information efficiently and accurately </li><li>Collect and process co-pays from the patient at the time of service </li><li>Generate fee slips with accurate physician information and obtain signatures on all legal documents when necessary </li><li>Answer telephones, screen calls, take messages, and provide information to the appropriate source </li><li>Enter patient data into the EHR system </li><li>Direct and escort patients to physician offices </li><li>Provide information to patients about how to make an appointment </li><li>Assist patients with the use of wheelchairs and wheel them to the appropriate doctor's office if needed </li><li>Monitor the work area to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained </li><li>Work urgent care hours if required </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred</p> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish immediate rapport with patients </li><li>One year of experience in customer service or reception in a health care environment preferred </li><li>Previous healthcare experience and/or familiarity with medical terminology helpful </li><li>Experience with business office equipment (credit card machines, fax machines, printers, etc.) preferred </li></ul> <p>Performance Requirements:</p> <p>Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of basic computer skills </li><li>Knowledge of basic mathematics skills </li><li>Knowledge of individual responsibilities to accurately direct callers </li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology and organization services </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Skill in using multi-line phone system, including transferring calls </li><li>Skill is providing excellent customer service </li></ul> <p>Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to get appropriate information to route calls to the appropriate person </li><li>Ability to calms, or defuses irate callers and patients by working with them to identify concerns and properly directs calls </li><li>Adequate hearing to answer phone and speak with patients </li><li>Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard by callers and patients </li></ul> <p>Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.</p> <p>Work Environment: Position is in well-lighted office environment.</p> <p>Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.</p>
