If you do not mind hard work and want to make a difference in your community, then please consider joining the FMCC family.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>The Civil Foreman is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plans the day-to-day operations on assigned projects and ensures that proper resources are in place for the timely completion of work, including labor, tools, equipment and material, </li><li>Ensure that work is performed safely and in accordance with project plans and specifications, </li><li>Makes recommendations on the hiring, training, corrective action and termination of crew members, </li><li>Monitor progress and report on project status to project managers, </li><li>Takes responsibility for crew performance as it relates to company goals, safety regulations and protocols, including use of safety equipment and enforcement of safety procedures, </li><li>Foster a positive work environment focuses on teamwork and collaboration, </li><li>Accountable for ensuring that the completed work meets quality standards, </li><li>Coordinate and maintain work schedule/deadlines with project managers and other management personnel, </li><li>Within own discretion or judgment, assists with hands on work as may be required to accomplish operations, </li><li>Initiates follow up action as necessary including training, orientation, discipline, etc., </li><li>May be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends, </li><li>Additional duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lead and manage construction crews effectively, </li><li>Must have at least 5 years of Heavy Highway construction experience, </li><li>Expected to obtain and maintain training and certification in the following if not already certified, </li><li>(MDE) Erosion and Sediment Control, </li><li>MD SHA MOT, </li><li>OSHA 10, </li><li>OSHA 30 </li><li>Valid driver's license, </li><li>Ability to read drawing, plans and blueprints, </li><li>Experience in civil construction, including structural concrete, roads, earthworks and drainage projects, </li><li>Excellent organization and leadership skills, </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate, </li><li>Solid problem-solving skills, </li><li>Must be able to pass drug screen and background check. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday, </li><li>Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, and twist, throughout the workday, </li><li>In addition, you must have the ability to be on your feet and legs for long periods of time, </li><li>Repeatedly use of hands, and arms, for an extended period, </li><li>This includes frequently walking on sloped ground and slippery and uneven surfaces, </li><li>This job requires the ability to see, with vision correction tools (glasses, contacts), </li><li>Perform essential job tasks in extreme or inclement weather, including but not limited to extreme heat, humidity, rain, storms, snow, for extended amount of time, </li><li>Exposure to hot materials, fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease and oils, </li><li>Constant exposure to loud noises and heavy moving equipment. </li></ul> <p>Note: This position is considered Safety-Sensitive, and therefore subject to various schedule and unscheduled screenings for controlled substances.</p> <p>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and fully subscribe to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity.
