<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Under general supervision, this employee will be responsible for operating the statewide radio communication system for SCDNR, operating toll free hotlines for the public to report law violations, drownings, hunting and boating accidents and other emergency complaints.</p> <p>Job Duties Include:</p> <ul> <li>Operating the statewide console radio system from the SCDNR Communications Center in Lexington County. </li><li>Operating the toll free hotline (OGT) and other phone lines for the purpose of receiving and disseminating law enforcement and any other DNR related information. </li><li>Properly documenting all calls for service via the department call log record management system. </li><li>Staying proficient in skill levels and knowledge to operate all computer systems and programs. </li><li>Maintaining NCIC certification as required and set forth by SLED and FBI. </li><li>Inspecting and maintaining all work related equipment. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A high school diploma and six (6) months of experience in radio or teletype dispatching.</p> <p>Current NCIC certification in accordance with NCIC policy.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Excellent communication skills and clear speech. Ability to use good personal judgment and discretion using a predetermined set of guidelines established by the Communications Coordinator. Experience using windows computer software applications.</p>
