Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).</p> <p>Minimum Pay:</p> <p>$106,017.60</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The IT Network and Security Engineer is a hands-on technical expert responsible for implementing, maintaining, and securing enterprise network infrastructure at Capital Health. This role focuses on delivering complete, high-quality solutions using modern technologies, with a strong emphasis on self-direction, continuous learning, and execution excellence. The engineer is expected to manage work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and drive outcomes without direct supervision. Success in this role depends on strong communication with operational leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and coordination with third-party vendors to support enterprise objectives. This role is ideal for professionals who take full ownership of their work, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are committed to staying current in an ever-evolving technology landscape.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent practical experience. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>3+ years of recent, hands-on experience working with current enterprise network and security technologies.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience must demonstrate the ability to deliver full solutions using up-to-date platforms in production environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and drive results in a fast-paced setting.</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong experience with Palo Alto Networks (Next-Gen Firewalls, Panorama, GlobalProtect).</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and policy management.</p> </li><li> <p>Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs).</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in enterprise firewall, VPN, and wireless networking.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with hybrid cloud networking (e.g., Azure/AWS VPCs, VPN gateways).</p> </li><li> <p>Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, Ansible) preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Comfortable producing diagrams, runbooks, and documentation for operational handoff.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to independently deliver complete technical solutions from design to implementation.</p> </li><li> <p>Highly self-managing, with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload effectively.</p> </li><li> <p>Focused on delivery, quality, and results, even in high-pressure environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience communicating with operational leadership, coordinating with other departments, and managing technical relationships <p>Preferred: Certifications related to Cisco ISE, security (e.g., CISSP), or cloud networking.</p> </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design and implement secure and scalable network and security solutions across Capital Health facilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Install, configure, and maintain Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ISE network access policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate with operational departments to gather requirements and support clinical and business objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage project tasks and timelines with minimal supervision, ensuring quality and compliance.</p> </li><li> <p>Resolve advanced technical issues in a timely and thorough manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain detailed technical documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor network and security system performance, ensuring high availability and proper configuration.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to apply and maintain enterprise security policies.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Communicate and align with operational leadership and department heads to ensure smooth deployment and operation of infrastructure.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate with third-party vendors for system integration, support, and product evaluations.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in infrastructure modernization and enterprise technology initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with compliance, disaster recovery, and security audit efforts.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to process improvement,
