<p>Position SummaryThis position is funded by a grant for a duration of time as defined by the grantor.Works under the direct supervision of an assigned supervisor to perform various technical, phlebotomy, and specimen accessioning duties as they relate to laboratory medicine.Pay Grade: 42Salary Commensurate with Experience and EducationApplication Special InstructionsThis position is eligible for a HIRING BONUS outlined below:1st payment of $1500 paid after completion of six (6) months of service.2nd payment of $1500 paid after completion of twelve (12) months of service.3rd payment of $2000 paid after completion of eighteen (18) months of service.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications1. Two (2) years of experience as a medical assistant, AND2. Certified as a medical assistant from a nationally accredited program.3. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Collects samples, obtains procedure history, and prepares patients for examination.2. Performs duties of specimen management and processing.3. Registers clients into the clinic database.4. Completes all relevant paperwork and logs, submits in a timely manner, and assures accuracy.5. Delivers specimens to the laboratory.6. Maintains supplies and assists with ordering supplies as needed.7. Assures proper equipment cleaning and sterilization occurs as required to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.8. Provides confidentiality with all records and conversations regarding medical information.9. Performs other related duties as required or directed. </li></ol> <p>KSAs1. Knowledge of basic principles of the medical technology related to job duties.2. Knowledge of routine medical techniques, including phlebotomy.3. Ability to learn techniques required in performing laboratory procedures.4. Ability to interact tactfully with the public and co-workers.5. Ability to read and carry out technical orders and procedures.6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, professional, diverse environment with minimal direct supervision.7. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and similar County's computer and software applications.</p> <p>Special Requirements1. Must have a valid Tennessee driver's license or secure one upon date of employment.2. Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet County requirements for automobile insurance upon the date of employment.3.
