<p>Summary:</p> <p>Under the general direction of the Director of Patient Experience assists in the planning development and implementation of volunteer services that support and augment the staff of the Newport Hospital in the delivery of health care.</p> <p>Coordinates and provides administrative support for the entity specific new employee orientation program.</p> <p>Coordinates and provides administrative support for various reward and recognition programs employee engagement programs and events for volunteers and employees.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Assists the Director in planning the goals objectives and scope of the volunteer services program so that it augments the services of the hospital staff.</p> <p>Interviews volunteer applicants for appropriate fit arranges placement where appropriate and coordinates training with participating department. Maintain schedules for all volunteers in all service areas.</p> <p>Coordinates on-boarding activities for volunteers including safety training background and reference checks and interviews with department leaders for potential placement.</p> <p>Monitors volunteer attendance and behavior and takes disciplinary action when necessary. Conduct performance evaluations exit interviews and professional development training for volunteers.</p> <p>Capable of planning and organizing programs and services to meet patient staff and volunteer needs. Ability to supervise volunteers of diverse age groups and socio-economic backgrounds and monitor volunteer activities to ensure safety of patients parents and staff.</p> <p>Assists the Director in the development of new services and assignments for volunteers. Investigates and develops pilot programs.</p> <p>Develops and maintains department records such as job descriptions procedures and manuals related to volunteers.</p> <p>Maintains knowledge of current or new trends and changes in the volunteer services field new legal and governmental regulations and other changes governing volunteers of all ages by attending seminars/workshops and subscribing to professional publications.</p> <p>Frequent contact with outside companies organizations and institutions placement directors from area colleges and universities and prospective volunteers.</p> <p>Provides administrative support to various hospital committees by:</p> <p>Preparing meeting materials (e.g.:agendas printed materials presentation slides refreshments)</p> <p>Taking minutes and creating action items</p> <p>Processing invoices and employee reimbursement forms</p> <p>Assists in planning and provides support for monthly and annual award events and other celebrations for employees throughout the year.</p> <p>Coordinates and provides administrative support for the entity specific new employee orientation program. Reserves meeting space confirms presentations with content experts maintains registration and sign in sheets orders refreshments and gathers feedback from attendees.</p> <p>Provides administrative support for the Director of Patient Experience including calendar management reconciling business expense statements and receipts ordering supplies and producing flyers to market hospital-wide events.</p> <p>Highly skilled written communication and public speaking required.</p> <p>Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care patients with consideration of aging processes human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.</p> <p>Other information:</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent required.</p> <p>Associate Degree or some college education desirable</p> <p>Minimum of two years previous work experience which includes interviewing counseling public speaking program development and training responsibilities.</p> <p>INDEPENDENT ACTION:</p> <p>Performs independently within the departments policies and practices.
