<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Position: Long Term Substitute - Social Worker</p> <p>Position Available: 8/26/25 (for approximately 6 weeks)</p> <p>Application Deadline: Open Until Filled</p> <p>School/Department: John Lyman Elementary School</p> <p>Position Description: Regional School District 13 is seeking a long term substitute Social Worker for an anticipated 6 week duration.</p> <p>Qualifications: Current and Valid CT School Social Worker Certification (071)</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Recommends intervention services, and IEP goals and objectives for learners who qualify for special education services </li><li>Designs and evaluate interventions to meet specific educational, social- emotional or behavioral needs </li><li>Create and monitor the implementation of SRBI for social-emotional and behavioral interventions </li><li>Carries a caseload of group and individual counseling with students utilizing current best practice models and techniques for treatment </li><li>Provides Teacher consultation for Learner connection strategies </li><li>Provides Parent consultation and education </li><li>Coordinates and communicates with outside practitioners and agencies </li><li>Participates as School Climate and Crisis Team Member </li><li>Designs curriculum and implements or supports social-emotional learning in classrooms </li><li>Consults and collaborates with other school personnel in gathering and giving information on a case, and in establishing and planning for respective roles in the modification of the student's behavior </li><li>Supervises the referral of students to, and serves as liaison with, such outside agencies as the Department of Children and Families, Juvenile Court, and other appropriate agencies </li><li>Home- school communication for the purpose of gathering helpful information on a progress and performance </li><li>Serves as liaison between home and school when considerable follow-up is necessary </li><li>Assists students directly with their adjustment to school </li><li>Keeps sufficient records of cases for use by school staff members and outside agencies when appropriate </li><li>Supports and promotes the District's Core Ethical Values with students, colleagues and parents </li><li>Strives to implement the District's mission, goals and objectives in the District's Strategic Plan </li></ul> <p>Reports to: Principal/Director of Student Services and Special Education</p> <p>How to Apply: Interested applicants must complete an online application by visiting our district website (www.rsd13ct.org).
