<p>We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill in as a Leave Replacement for a Special Education ICS Teacher at New Albany Elementary School. This is a temporary position that will require the candidate to work closely with students, teachers, and parents to ensure the delivery of high-quality education services. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a passion for working with students with special needs.</p> <ul> <li>This leave will begin on or about August 31, 2026, with an anticipated end on November 30, 2026. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide individual and group instruction to students with special needs </li><li>Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers and other special education staff to ensure students receive appropriate support </li><li>Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed </li><li>Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress </li><li>Attend IEP meetings and other meetings related to student progress and services </li><li>Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and services </li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and trends in special education </li><li>Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning </li><li>Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction </li><li>Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed </li><li>Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system </li><li>Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field </li><li>Valid teaching certification in Special Education </li><li>Experience working with students with special needs </li><li>Knowledge of special education laws and regulations </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team </li><li>Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Strong organizational and time-management skills </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times </li></ul>
