<p>Position Summary At Orlando Health Heart and Vascular Institute, our renowned cardiologists, heart and vascular surgeons, and cardiovascular professionals work together to provide award-winning care in 40 specialties, using the latest in diagnostic imaging and treatment options. Our multidisciplinary team includes more than 70 physicians in 24 locations across Central Florida, spanning Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Highlands and Okeechobee counties. As a part of Orlando Health, the Heart and Vascular Institute includes a network of community and specialty hospitals with more than 4,000 providers. Orlando Health | Choose Well Position Summary Works closely with physicians and other staff performing pacemaker, defibrillator and other implanted device checks as well as monitoring remote device checks. Orlando Health offers a great benefits package that includes: Medical, Dental, Vison 403(b) Retirment Savings Plan Health Savings Account (HSA) Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Paid Time Off (Up to 5 weeks to start) Life Insurance Extended Leave Plan (ELP) Family Care (child care, elder care, pet care) Paid Parental Leave Pet Insurance Car Insurance 100% PAID Tuition as well as tuition reimbursment & monthly payments to help pay down any graduated school debt ALL benefits start day one Responsibilities Essential Functions • Serves as primary resource for clinical support in basic troubleshooting, programming, and patient follow-up for company products. • Participatesin the training and onboarding of new cardiac device specialists. • Assists with directing daily workflow and participatesin quality and safety initiatives. • Maintains competency in field through continuing education, or other approved resourcesrelated to role. • Educates patientsregarding device function and clinic follow up. • Performs clinical and library research and participatesin case reviews and clinical observation. • Performsremote pacemaker/AICD checks every 1-4 months using approved vendor websites. • Explainsin office testing and phone check proceduresto patient with verbal consent of understanding. • Performs in office pacemaker/AICD checks every 3-6 months using approved vendor programmers: check battery life, lead impedance, view sensitivity, parameter settings, threshold/voltage/pulse wave, device utilization, and rhythm abnormalities. • Changes or adjusts pacemaker/AICD settings or parameters as needed to enhance device performance. • Edits and forwardsfinal test resultsto attending physician for analysis and interpretation. • Forwards abnormal findings directly to the Physician or nurse per department guidelines. • Keys information into computer or programmerto maintain patient and office records, and uploadsreportsinto patient chart. • Works with vendors and Clinical Engineering to schedule equipment downtime for preventive maintenance and/or repairs and reports any equipment issues promptly. • Utilizes knowledge of cardiac device software, MicrosoftOffice, and internet applications. • Exercises professional judgmentin performance ofservices and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions, age specific needs and ensuring successful completion of procedures. • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and assuresthat the information is accurately documented. • Administersmedical aid asrequired for any emergency situation. • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of diseases. • Adheresto Orlando Healthmission statements and commitment to excellence standards. • Utilizes all Orlando Health computer systems effectively and accurately. • Ensuressafety of all customers. • Maintains accurate and precise documentation. Accurately record verbal and telephone ordersfrom physiciansin the patient record. • Communicates openly and effectively with allmembers of the healthcare team. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions • Assistsin transporting patients. • Follows established standards of practice for report processing and interpretation. • Assistsin clerical duties, such as, but notlimited to, printing reports, scanning documents, and scheduling of patients. • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment Maintains well stocked and organized work areas. • Demonstratesrequired flexibility to work at any Orlando Health facility. • Assists with other departmental duties and responsibilities as needed. • Demonstratesrequired flexibility to work afterhours and call shifts as needed. Qualifications Education/Training • Bachelor's Degree; and • Must have one (1) of the following within six (6) months of hire date. Failure to complete one of the following options within six (6) months of hire date will result in the incumbent's removal from his/her current position with the option to apply to a position in which he/she may qualify. There is no guarantee of job placement as a result of not meeting these requirements: • PrepMD certificate • Arrhythmia Technologies Institute certificate • Equivalent diploma for Cardiac Rhythm Management • Completion of International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners(IBHRE) or- Certified CardiacDevice Specialist (CCDS) - orCertified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS) • International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners(IBHRE) Certified Cardiac Device Specialist(CCDS); or Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS); or Cardiac Device Remote Monitoring Specialist (CDRMS) Three (3) years of direct experience may substitute for the Bachelor's degree and certification.
