<p>The Clinical Manager has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in a designated unit. This position has authority to make decisions on that unit in the areas of patient care, human resource, and financial management. This role is responsible for unit's operations. This role demonstrates superior communication skills with all internal and external customers and exhibits a high degree of integrity, a solid character, and sound judgment.</p> <ul> <li>Assists the divisional director in development, implementation and evaluation of on going service programs that assure quality nursing and patient care programs consistent with hospital mission. Monitors/maintains unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy for patient services, and environmental and personnel safety. </li><li>Works collaboratively with the Educator(s) to ensure all clinical competencies are met. Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication. </li><li>Oversees quality improvement program which monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care. </li><li>Consults with patients/families through primary nurse request, direct family request, and/or direct assessment of patient/family response to hospitalization. </li><li>Assesses patient/significant other survey responses regarding nursing care and services. Responsible for on going development of staff and unit specific patient care programs. Maintains current license and knowledge of nursing care requirements for all patients on the unit. </li><li>Assesses need for personal growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need. Is responsible for department's operational excellence; assures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and professional standards. </li><li>Manage team members which include orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. </li><li>Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. </li><li>Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards. Is responsible for the fiscal management of department; assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources. </li><li>Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff. </li><li>Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. </li><li>May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree Nursing Required </li></ul> <p>Minimum Work Experience</p> <ul> <li>4-6 years Clinical critical care nursing Experience Required </li><li>1-3 years Management experience (will consider charge nurse experience) Required </li></ul> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Required </li><li>BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Required </li><li>ACLS Provider (ACLS) American Heart Association Required </li><li>National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) Required </li></ul> <p>Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated clinical competence and/or education in relevant area of nursing practice. </li><li>Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency. </li><li>Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communication skills, ability to deal well with people professionally, ability to problem solve, ability to confront/resolve issues, ability to motivate others, ability to plan, organize, and direct the activities of others </li></ul>
