We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.</p> <p>The Head of North America (NA) Wholesale and Specialty will report to the CEO of Global Wholesale & Specialty for Everest Insurance.</p> <p>This is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, profitable growth, and overall performance of Everest's Wholesale and Specialty Insurance lines of business. This executive will lead a team of underwriting professionals, drive underwriting excellence, and cultivate and expand key relationships with wholesale distribution partners. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with deep technical expertise, a strong market presence, and a proven track record of building and scaling profitable specialty insurance businesses. She/he will oversee the strategic direction, operational management, and organizational structure for Everest Evolution, Property & Casualty, Specialty Lines (Credit and Political Risk, Surety, Aviation, Marine, Energy and Construction), Everest Underwriting Partners, and Accident & Health.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Strategic Leadership:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and execute the long-term strategic vision and annual business plans for the Wholesale and Specialty division to achieve profitability and growth targets in North America.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify emerging market trends, risks, and opportunities to drive product innovation and market expansion.</p> </li><li> <p>Champion a culture of underwriting discipline, collaboration, and superior customer service.</p> </li><li> <p>Underwriting and Portfolio Management:</p> </li><li> <p>Direct the overall underwriting strategy, ensuring alignment with the company's risk appetite and profitability goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the management of the entire Wholesale and Specialty portfolio, monitoring key performance indicators such as combined ratio, loss ratio, and rate adequacy.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide expert guidance on complex underwriting referrals and large accounts.</p> </li><li> <p>Distribution and Business Development:</p> </li><li> <p>Build, maintain, and enhance strategic relationships with key wholesale brokers and national distribution partners.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as the primary executive contact for major partners, driving business development initiatives and ensuring Everest is a market of choice.</p> </li><li> <p>Represent Everest at industry conferences, client meetings, and other external events to promote our brand and capabilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Team Leadership and Talent Development:</p> </li><li> <p>Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of underwriting leaders and professionals.</p> </li><li> <p>Foster an inclusive and results-oriented culture that attracts, develops, and retains top industry talent.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching to ensure team success.</p> </li><li> <p>Operational and Financial Oversight:</p> </li><li> <p>Assume full P&L responsibility for the North America Wholesale and Specialty division.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, Operations, and IT to ensure seamless execution, data integrity, and operational efficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and present regular performance reports and strategic updates to the executive leadership team.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience: A minimum of 15+ years of progressive experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, with significant focus on specialty lines and the wholesale distribution channel. At least 10 years of proven leadership experience, including managing large teams and P&L responsibility.</p> </li><li> <p>Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field is required. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Certifications: Professional designations such as CPCU or ARM are highly desirable.</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills & Competencies:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Deep technical underwriting expertise across various specialty lines (e.g., E&S Property, Casualty, Professional Lines, Credit and Political Risk, Surety, Aviation, Marine, Energy and Construction, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Extensive and demonstrable relationships within the wholesale brokerage community.</p> </li><li> <p>Exceptional strategic thinking, business acumen, and analytical skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to lead, influence, and drive results in a dynamic and competitive market.</p> </li><li> <p>Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, from underwriters to C-suite executives.</p> </li></ul> <p>The base salary range for this position is $315,000-$500,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
