<p>School Bus Driver JobID: 554</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Transportation/Bus Driver</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>9/29/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>County-Wide</p> <p>Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>School Bus Driver</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Holds Commercial Driver's License with Maryland endorsement for passenger vehicles</p> </li><li> <p>Has five (5) years driving experience</p> </li><li> <p>Complete the pre-service instruction as required pursuant to regulation .07A of COMAR 13A.06.07 and complete future in-service instruction as required in regulation .07B</p> </li><li> <p>Has acceptable driving record</p> </li><li> <p>Meets health and physical requirements as specified by the Board</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to carry out written and/or oral instructions</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers, parents and students</p> </li><li> <p>Be at least 21 years of age</p> </li><li> <p>Received a negative controlled substances test result</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.</p> </li></ol> <p>REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Operations</p> <p>SUPERVISES: N/A</p> <p>JOB GOAL:</p> <p>To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy</p> <p>the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Drives a school bus safely and professionally.</p> </li><li> <p>Makes all necessary pre-driving inspections and immediate repairs, if possible.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps accurate records as required by the Transportation Department.</p> </li><li> <p>Is responsible for knowing and following the Department of Motor Vehicle Laws, Maryland School Bus Laws and Kent County Requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports any unsafe conditions on the bus route.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows Board procedure for reporting all accidents.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in all mandatory on-site training.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps an accurate list of student riders and follows the Board approved</p> </li></ol> <p>route and bus stops.</p> <ol start="9"> <li>Complies with discipline policies set forth in the Kent County Public </li></ol> <p>Schools Transportation Guidelines Handbook.</p> <ol start="10"> <li> <p>Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-county field trips.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps the bus clean and in excellent operating condition.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Operations.</p> </li></ol> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As found in the Agreement Between the Kent County Educational Support Professionals Association and The Board of Education of Kent County.</p> <p>SALARY LANE: Bus Driver Lane.
