<p>Description</p> <p>Position Summary :</p> <p>The Grants Director at YMCA of Southwest Florida supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This individual is a key member of the philanthropy team and intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture while also conceptualizing, organizing, and implementing comprehensive strategic stewardship plan and grant management.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Writes, monitors, and manages grant applications including timely updates and final reports. </li><li>Establishes and manages a comprehensive process for timely and accurate grant evaluation, quality compliance, project, and program fulfillment. </li><li>Monitors/Oversees grant programs and/or projects as assigned. </li><li>Researches potential funders (e.g., foundations, corporations) and identifies opportunities for new funding. </li><li>Effectively communicates community benefit and the Y's impact for all stakeholders (e.g., staff, volunteers, members, community leaders) and develops grant proposals to help fund the Y's programs. </li><li>Maintains an efficient and effective tracking and reporting system that communicates the purpose, roles, and expectations of the grant. </li><li>Manages and implements an organized system of communications internally and externally to provide stewardship to donors and grantors. </li><li>Implement the association's donor stewardship plan including developing and implementing the stewardship calendar and stewardship pieces. </li><li>Supports executive leadership by maintaining an efficient and effective tracking and reporting system that supports the financial development efforts of the Y. </li><li>Establishes systems for timely and appropriate acknowledgements of gifts and recognition based on the stewardship plan. </li><li>Manages and accurately maintains the grant database. </li><li>Oversee and maintain strong relationships with local, state, and federal government agencies: manage all aspects of government grants and appropriations, including application, compliance, reporting, and renewal processes. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in communications or related field preferred. </li><li>YMCA Team Leader Certification preferred. </li><li>Prior experience with grant writing to achieve fundraising goals and initiatives. </li><li>Demonstrated success in achieving grant awards and upholding funder requirements. </li><li>Solid understanding of fundraising principles and methodologies. </li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work towards goals and within deadlines. </li><li>Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze trends from quantitative and qualitative data. </li><li>Able to think strategically and provide leadership to staff and volunteers in reaching specific goals. </li><li>Able to serve as a key member of the Philanthropy team with strong collaborative skills. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communications skills, particularly the ability to read, analyze, write, and edit reports according to prescribed style/format and correspond with external businesses and community members. </li><li>Adheres to the Donor Bill of Rights and exemplifies the highest ethical standards for the practice of fundraising. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and working knowledge of Raiser's Edge preferred. </li><li>Possess a valid Florida driver's license. </li></ul> <p>Certifications & Trainings:</p> <ul> <li>CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred. </li><li>Completion of YMCA's Blood Borne Pathogens training annually </li><li>Completion of YMCA's Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Class annually </li><li>Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment & Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
