<p>Job Title: Engineer Quality I - Supplier Quality</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This role integrates you into a collaborative engineering environment where you support supplier quality and manufacturing excellence. You will perform focused quality engineering assignments under the guidance of senior colleagues, contribute to the development and validation of engineering solutions, and support continuous improvement of manufacturing and materials processes. You will coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure that products and processes meet defined quality standards and regulatory requirements.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Support the analysis of information to define methods, process steps, plant machinery, and equipment required to design and continuously improve manufacturing and materials processes. </li><li>Contribute to the development and implementation of feasibility testing for proposed engineering solutions, providing feedback and data to validate designs. </li><li>Assist in drafting engineering standards and specifications and help evaluate the effectiveness of those standards. </li><li>Perform inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering work and the integrity of installations or structures, and make recommendations on remedial actions to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Coordinate activities of subcontractors and suppliers, acting as a primary point of contact while working within an established contract management plan. </li><li>Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and apply established change management programs to address them. </li><li>Support and advise others in effectively using knowledge management systems to capture, share, and apply technical and quality-related information. </li><li>Carry out product development and engineering activities using established systems to analyze customer needs and help define and deliver products. </li><li>Work within established project management plans to achieve specific quality and engineering goals on time and within scope. </li><li>Lead quality planning activities for assigned commodities related to product development programs, current production, service parts, continuous improvement initiatives, and value improvement projects. </li><li>Facilitate and participate in cross-functional teams applying quality-related development activities such as design reviews, DPARs, FMEAs, control plans, supplier audits, risk assessments, and root cause analysis. </li><li>Assist in identifying, communicating, and resolving supplier quality problems for product development programs and current production. </li><li>Facilitate corrective actions using structured methodologies such as the 8D process for product development and supplier quality issues. </li><li>Ensure robust execution of Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs), Supplier Change Requests (SCRs), quality plans, and supplier improvement activities as required. </li><li>Apply standard quality tools, including control plans, FMEA, PPAP, root cause analysis, and system process controls, to maintain and improve supplier quality performance. </li><li>Develop your capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities, formal and informal training, and coaching, and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulations, and industry best practices through ongoing education and professional engagement. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>2 or more years of related experience in a design or manufacturing environment, which may include manufacturing, quality engineering, or supply management. </li><li>Experience with standard quality tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), NCCA (Non-Conformance Corrective Action), SPC (Statistical Process Control), root cause analysis, and Six Sigma. </li><li>Experience utilizing advanced data gathering and analysis techniques, including statistical analysis, to identify, investigate, and resolve problems. </li><li>Experience with drawings and schematic interpretation, product models, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). </li><li>Ability to lead and identify priorities with minimal supervision in a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment. </li><li>Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers. </li><li>Practical experience applying control plans, FMEA, PPAP, and system process controls in a quality or supplier quality context. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in the practice of quality engineering tools within a supplier quality or manufacturing environment. </li><li>Familiarity with supplier audits, risk assessments, and structured corrective action processes such as 8D. </li><li>Comfort working in cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply management, and quality. </li><li>Openness to professional development, including ongoing training, coaching, and maintaining awareness of industry best practices and evolving technologies. </li><li>Manager is open to recent graduates who demonstrate strong foundational knowledge and a willingness to learn. </li><li>Local candidates are highly preferred for ease of collaboration and on-site engagement. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This is an onsite role on a first-shift schedule, providing a stable and predictable work pattern in a manufacturing and engineering setting. You will work closely with engineers, quality professionals, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, frequently engaging with plant machinery, production processes, and supplier facilities. The environment emphasizes structured project management, formal quality tools, and established systems for knowledge management and process control. You can expect a culture that supports continuous improvement, professional development, and collaboration, with access to formal and informal training, coaching, and opportunities to stay current with relevant technologies, regulations, and industry best practices. Dress expectations align with a professional manufacturing and engineering facility, including appropriate safety attire when working on the shop floor or during inspections.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract position based out of Horicon, WI.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
