It is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties required of the job incumbents.</p> <p>Part-time up to 19 hours/week, serving I-81 Preble and Whitney Point Rest areas</p> <p>Pay rate for this position is $24.00 per hour/ per NYSID contract</p> <p>To explore the full range of benefits please visit our website www.jmmurray.com</p> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY</p> <p>Responsible for maintaining and improving the appearance and health of outdoor spaces, primarily lawns</p> <p>COMPANY STANDARDS</p> <ul> <li>Maintains regular attendance and punctuality in order to perform tasks related to daily production demands. This position performs all hours onsite and at all assigned physical locations of operations. </li><li>Follows all safety rules and regulations; wears and/or uses required protective equipment while working; immediately reports any safety concerns or unsafe working conditions to Custodial Services management. </li><li>Conducts all aspects job responsibilities in compliance with JM Murray policies and procedures, professional standards, and applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Cleans and maintains equipment before and after use. </li><li>Mowing and Trimming: Operate lawn mowers and trimmers to maintain grass at desired heights and trim hedges and bushes. </li><li>Debris Removal: Remove leaves, grass clippings, and other debris from lawns and outdoor spaces. </li><li>Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate power equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers. </li><li>Safety: Follow safety protocols and guidelines when using equipment and chemicals. </li><li>Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service. </li><li>Problem Solving: Assess lawn conditions, identify problems, and recommend solutions. </li><li>Represents JM Murray in a positive manner, treating people with dignity and respect. </li><li>Performs additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned. </li></ul> <p>COLLABORATION</p> <p>INTERNAL</p> <p>Custodial Services staff and management</p> <p>Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient completion of tasks.</p> <p>EXTERNAL</p> <p>JM Murray employees and representatives</p> <p>The general public at the rest area locations</p> <p>EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent preferred.</p> <p>Experience in lawn care or landscaping preferred.</p> <p>Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.</p> <p>Valid driver's license and own transportation may be required.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS</p> <p>Ability to operate and maintain lawn care equipment.</p> <p>Knowledge of plant care, including fertilizing, watering, and pest control.</p> <p>Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.</p> <p>Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of work.</p> <p>Good communication and customer service skills.</p> <p>Ability to follow instructions and work independently.</p> <p>Knowledge of basic landscaping principles.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <p>Job assignments may take place indoors and outdoors, in various environmental conditions including rain, snow and cold weather.</p> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Physical Abilities and Working Conditions:</p> <p>Job-related physical abilities an individual must possess in order to perform the job in a satisfactory manner.
