CST on the closing date. A-State participates in E-Verify.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The access counselor will help facilitate accommodations for students with various types of disabilities. This includes conducting intake sessions, documentation analysis, and determining reasonable and appropriate accommodations for the classroom setting and beyond. They will also make appropriate university and community referrals as needed.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate accommodations for students with various types of disabilities </li><li>Conduct intake sessions, documentation analysis, and determine reasonable and appropriate accommodations </li><li>Work with students and faculty to successfully implement accommodations and address accommodation concerns </li><li>Conduct follow-up services when needed to ensure student access and support </li><li>Outreach programming </li><li>Provide community and campus referrals when needed </li><li>Participate in staff meetings and training when required </li><li>Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Access and Accommodation Services office and serve as a resource for the campus community </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</p> <p>Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other relevant disability law</p> <p>Assessment of functional limitations due to disability and facilitating appropriate accommodations</p> <p>Effective written and verbal communication skills</p> <p>Effective interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills are required</p> <p>Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student information and academic integrity.</p> <p>General Days/Hours:</p> <p>Monday - Friday</p> <p>8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m</p> <p>Additional hours as requested and/or needed</p> <p>Regular and reliable attendance</p> <p>Other:</p> <p>Please note: all position postings close at 12:00 A.M.
