Join Kite and help create more tomorrows.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>At Gilead our pursuit of a healthier world for all people has yielded a cure for hepatitis C, revolutionary improvements in HIV treatment and prevention as well as advancements in therapies for viral and inflammatory diseases and certain cancers.</p> <p>We set and achieve bold ambitions in our fight against the world's most devastating diseases, united in our commitment to confronting the largest public health challenges of our day and improving the lives of patients for generations to come.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Utilize industry best practices to conduct the design, development, qualification, and implementation of packaging and labeling materials for temperature-controlled, sterile products</p> </li><li> <p>Qualify shipping methods and processes to ensure the safe delivery of life-saving therapies</p> </li><li> <p>Own the design, qualification, and use of label printing, inspecting, and application equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize sound project management methodology and tools to propagate a culture of organization and timeliness in the management of project tasks, schedules, and risks</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain awareness of all government regulations as they pertain to packaging and labeling materials, components, processes, and products</p> </li><li> <p>Investigate complaints/deviations and develop solutions for issues related to logistics, packaging (materials and design), labeling, and cold chain transport</p> </li><li> <p>Write package material specifications and packaging process instructions for new and existing packaging</p> </li><li> <p>Provide support for lifecycle management of cold chain packaging and labeling components</p> </li><li> <p>Provide packaging and shipping expertise to support both internal and external logistics and supply chain partners</p> </li><li> <p>Comply with the company's change control procedures to ensure that only approved packaging materials and processes are used</p> </li><li> <p>Identify alternate suppliers, as appropriate</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with internal partners, Materials Management, Quality, and Manufacturing to provide packaging and labeling solutions</p> </li><li> <p>Successfully operate in a fast paced and dynamic cross-functional environment</p> </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree and 6 years' experience </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree and 4 years' experience </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>PhD /PharmD </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Package Engineering and/or a related field</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of 21 Code of Federal Regulations, cGMP's, and other applicable FDA Regulatory requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of U.S., Japanese, and European Compendia requirements as they pertain to packaging materials, components, processes, and products</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging and transport</p> </li><li> <p>Cold Chain / Hazardous packaging and shipping experience strongly desired</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of statistical methods and software desired</p> </li></ul> <p>People Leader Accountabilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Create Inclusion - knowing the business value of diverse teams, modeling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop Talent - understand the skills, experience, aspirations and potential of their employees and coach them on current performance and future potential. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
