<p>Job Description</p> <p>The Caster Operator ensures policies, procedures, and all activities are carried out to support BRS goals and objectives at the Caster on their respective crew assignments.</p> <p>Digital assessment test is required to be completed within 14 days of submitting application.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Capable of running the Caster in a safe manner. </li><li>Monitor mold level, mold flux level in the mold. Monitor steel levels in tundish, take tundish samples, hooking up ladies, keeping caster floor stocked with materials and supplies. </li><li>Communicate with caster tech and pulpit operator and be prepared for turnarounds. </li><li>Ensure good housekeeping practices are carried out throughout job areas and grounds. </li><li>Coordinate with upstream/downstream operations with daily activity. </li><li>Support other departments as needed to strengthen BRS profitability and continual improvement efforts. </li><li>Assist shift supervisor/caster tech in achieving operational goals and ensuring crew safety. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Quality and detail oriented </li><li>Must maintain a positive attitude and be a team player </li><li>Strong technical and analytical/ problem solving skills/mechanically inclined </li><li>Good insight into team dynamics </li><li>Good verbal communication skills; computer literate </li><li>Ability to routinely lift and move objects during shift </li><li>High School diploma or equivalent; college degree is a plus </li><li>Previous related experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:</p> <p>This position works on the Caster production areas which are routinely a hot environment with typical hours are rotating 12 hour shifts working weekend and holidays. As well as scheduled and unscheduled overtime.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibility:</p> <p>This position does not supervise others.</p>
