<p>Job Title: Mechanical Test EngineerJob Description</p> <p>We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Test Engineer with extensive knowledge in test assembly and integration, data acquisition systems, and statistical modeling. The ideal candidate will lead activities, design complex setups, develop custom fixtures, and optimize testing processes. This role requires an individual who is a recognized authority in handling large-scale, high-risk test programs.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead and execute testing activities, designing complex setups and developing custom fixtures. </li><li>Optimize testing processes and troubleshoot instrumentation to analyze measurement uncertainties. </li><li>Provide expert guidance on communication challenges, develop compelling narratives, and design technical presentations. </li><li>Draft intricate 2D or 3D designs and produce precise technical drawings using CAD tools. </li><li>Develop program plans, understand acquisition life cycles, and coordinate activities. </li><li>Manage small teams, create procurement strategies, and implement effective contract management practices. </li><li>Understand and apply propellant chemistry, combustion principles, and solid propellant manufacturing processes. </li><li>Design simple control systems and implement basic algorithms for system performance. </li><li>Conduct requirements elicitation and prioritize stakeholder needs. </li><li>Perform CFD simulations, set up structural analysis models, and interpret results. </li><li>Contribute to avionics tasks, including battery design, cable/wire harness design, and software design principles. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of mechanical engineering experience. </li><li>Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university. </li><li>Extensive knowledge in data acquisition systems, statistical modeling, multivariate analysis, and measurement techniques. </li><li>Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time. </li><li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Rocket motor design and testing experience. </li><li>Current DoD Top Secret SCI Security Clearance. </li><li>Master of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university. </li><li>Expertise in propulsion physics, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and combustion. </li><li>Proficiency in MATLAB and ANSYS. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This role offers an innovative work environment where you will not be confined to a single task.
