<p>GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:</p> <p>The Registered Nurse is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services at the assigned clinic site(s) under the direction of the Site Manager (SM) and Pediatric Provider. Participates in the patient's plan of care by utilizing the nursing process to carrying out interventions to improve the patient's health outcomes. Follows and adheres to all federal, state, and local regulations. Complies with the standard of care, adhering to InclusivCare's guidelines, protocols, policies, and procedures, including certifying and accrediting agencies and bodies. Acts as a liaison between clinical and non-clinical staff members, providers, patients, hospitals, and other external health care agencies.</p> <p>SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Medical Assistants</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist the providers with clinic visits, conducting the following duties and tasks according to current practice standards within the RN's Scope of Practice:</p> </li><li> <p>Obtaining accurate vital signs, focused precise intakes, and assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducting Point of Care Testing (POCT).</p> </li><li> <p>Conducting daily Quality Controls (QC), temperature checks and logs.</p> </li><li> <p>Administer medication utilizing the 10 medication rights to reduce the potential for errors.</p> </li><li> <p>Setting up and assisting with ordered procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducting patient Care Management.</p> </li><li> <p>Documents with meticulous attention to detail in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).</p> </li><li> <p>Notifies the provider immediately of observed changes in the patient's medical condition.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide age-specific, quality, patient-centered care with sensitivity and respect for the diversity of the human experience. Incorporating the patient and family's unique differences such as cultural, spiritual beliefs, race, ethnicity, lifestyle, socioeconomic status, age, and values into their individualized direct plan of care.</p> </li><li> <p>Promotes and models Customer Service Excellence.</p> </li><li> <p>Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner at times.</p> </li><li> <p>Adjusts to the clinic's fast-paced environment by accommodating unforeseen patient/clinical activity.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates pertinent information and notifies the SM and DON of clinic issues that may arise immediately.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitates the clinic's morning meetings and afternoon huddles.</p> </li><li> <p>Interacts with the medical and non-clinical staff members to deliver quality patient care.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains current clinical knowledge, demonstrating competency and functions as a clinical resource.</p> </li><li> <p>Seeks professional growth by participating in Continuing Education (CE) activities to maintain and enhance clinical knowledge and technical skills annually.</p> </li><li> <p>Practices and maintains all federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, protocols, and standards of care ensuring compliance and continuity of patient care.</p> </li><li> <p>Understands and consistently complies with the organization's policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for the clinic's ongoing Environment of Care, Infection Control, Quality and Process Improvement processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares and completes necessary reports and documents, thoroughly and accurately, in a timely manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in committees and task forces; and attends professional meetings and trainings, as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Works in collaboration with the SM and DON to develop and implement the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Clinic Goals</p> </li><li> <p>Operational Policies and Procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Organizational and Community Specific Projects</p> </li><li> <p>Supports current organizational initiatives, such as Emergency Preparedness, exhibits creativity and flexibility in times of change.</p> </li><li> <p>Travels to any InclusivCare location as assigned and/or needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in community outreach activities as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties and tasks as assigned and/or needed.</p> </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Experienced in Pediatrics, Medical/Surgical Nursing, Emergency Room, Ambulatory Care or School Nursing. </li><li>Five years of experience required. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION: Registered Nurse with successful completion of an approved and accredited Nursing program.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABLITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Medical Terminology</p> </li><li> <p>Patient Privacy Rights</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains HIPAA confidentiality.</p> </li><li> <p>Medical and professional nursing ethics.</p> </li><li> <p>Principles and practices of Health Promotion, Risk Reduction, Illness and Disease Prevention and Management, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Medication Administration: common medication and drug usage, dosage, physical and physiological effects, and possible adverse reactions.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Solid organizational and interpersonal skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Self-directed and good time-management skills</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills, both written and orally.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong computer skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient utilization of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office suite.</p> </li><li> <p>Handles and determine the appropriate course of action in complex and difficult situations.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizes data and evidence-based research to achieve and improve health outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages medical inventory and organizational resources properly.</p> </li><li> <p>Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhances customer satisfaction and employee morale.</p> </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must be an RN with a current Louisiana State Board of Nursing license. </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. </li></ul>
