<p>Job Title: Substation Physical Designer (Data Centers)</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>As a Data Center Substation Physical Designer within a well-established Power Delivery practice, you will leverage your extensive technical knowledge and experience in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) to design high voltage substation projects that are mission-critical and fast-paced. With at least three years of experience as a Designer, you are ready to tackle greater challenges in the data center market, focusing on speed to market and reliability. This position offers an excellent growth opportunity for a self-directed individual eager to learn and embrace new challenges.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Work independently to perform substation design tasks, including CADD design, developing design drawings and documents, modeling and analysis, preparing material lists, and conducting field reviews for simple to moderately complex projects. </li><li>Prepare physical substation design drawings, including General Arrangements, Sections, Grounding & Conduit Plans, and Foundation Plans. </li><li>Develop substation material lists (BOM) that include manufacturer part numbers, quantities, and footage. </li><li>Perform basic calculations, reports, and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium, and High Voltage) and substation systems to support engineers. </li><li>Understand client standards and complete small to moderately complex projects, exercising judgment in design criteria, evaluation, and design. </li><li>Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and client personnel. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience. </li><li>A minimum of 5 years related industry experience. </li><li>Advanced skillset in 3D design software and document management infrastructure. </li><li>Advanced skillset in 3D Coordination tool. </li><li>Competency in Microsoft Office products and communication tools. </li><li>Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts. </li><li>Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications. </li><li>Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associates or technical school degree or combination of education and relevant experience. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience developing Substation CADD layouts and design. </li><li>Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm. </li><li>Experience in Protection and Control aspects of High Voltage (HV) Substation design, including preparation of One Line Diagrams, Relay and Control Systems Schematics, and Wiring Diagrams. </li><li>Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, NEC, and other applicable codes and standards. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of major components of substations and types of drawings required to construct an electrical High Voltage (HV) substation. </li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of physical substation layout, elevations, grounding, foundations, and conduit. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The position is based in an office environment located in one of the following locations: Louisiana, Missouri-Kansas City, Montana-Billings, Texas-Round Rock, Illinois-Chicago, or Tennessee-Nashville.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $48.08/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job</p> <p>classification and length of employment.
